Currently half price at John Lewis. Have been looking to upgrade my old and cheap chair that’s non adjustable and opted for this.

The Diffrient World Task office chair from Humanscale provides ergonomic support and comfort, in an innovative design that fuses functionality and style. Created by industrial designer Niels Diffrient, the chair seat is upholstered and the chair is made from high-quality materials. The mesh backrest is designed with a weight-sensitive recline mechanism. It will automatically adjust to support each user at every recline position, moving with you to provide balanced, lumbar support throughout the working day. The tri-panel, non-stretch mesh removes the need for external lumbar support devices or manual controls, offering a flexible and comfortable feel. It also offers a full range of recline and adjust options, including the seat height, depth and armrest height. Each component is designed to work in tandem, for a completely smooth experience. Its sturdy metal base and castors allow you to glide easily across the room, without leaving marks on your flooring.

People thinking that this is too expensive, I paid over 1k for my office chair and don’t regret it for a minute.

how much did you pay for your mattress? Sadly; Some of us have to spend more time in a chair working than sleeping in bed.

yeah, I paid £900 for my Herman Miller Aeron 12 years ago and it's still like new. People on here would rather vote hot a 15p can of beans than a seriously good office chair that's half price.

The annoying thing is someone who only looks at the hot deals page will miss this cracking offer.

I realise this deal is now OOS but I’m curious as to how this chair compares to similar premium brands but with a higher back/ neck/ head support? Thanks in advance.

Doesn't compare brilliantly but for the price it was on offer for here it was great. At RRP you're better off looking for the Leap or Aeron.

Ergonomic chairs will always fetch a pretty penny, and with something I sit in for 8+ hours a day I'd certainly invest in one.

Same people saying this is too expensive will happily spend same amount on a faux leather 'gaming' chair that'll fall apart inside two to three years and leave you with a sore back.

Marketing is a funny thing. (edited)

Not if you buy one, with a real leather or durable cloth covering. Instead of pleather / pu (polyurethane) fake plastic covers, that always disintegrate.

Or you could buy this non vegan one, made with human scale covering!

All these comments saying it's a gimmick or too expensive
It's amazing how clued up some people are and because of that they just assume things they don't understand are silly, too expensive, gimmicky or wrong lol.

The price of a decent office chair is always obscene, but that doesn't stop this being a good deal.
You can certainly buyuch cheaper chairs, and if it's only occasional use that's fine. But for anyone who is likely to be using one daily for extended periods of time, sadly you have to pony up. For what little it will help, heat added.

15 year warranty on the fram and 5 year warranty on the mechanism. You certainly won't get that on most chairs

Human scale - So is that metric, imperial or something else?

For that price I would want a classroom full worth of that seat.

For a high quality office chair this is cheap. I have 2 in my office, one that cost £1200 and another £800. Paid for by previous employers who didn't want them back.

Different World is where I would splash out so much on a gimmick chair.

Some of us need to not wreck our backs at work by sitting on proper chairs for 8 hours a day. (edited)

    Hi OP,
Just thought I'd give an update - in case you were interested: Ours (2 ordered) arrived today and I've been using it all day as my 'office' chair. Compared to my old ikea one, it is much more supportive. When I purchased, I was pleased with the price-deal, but only 60% sure it would be a huge improvement on the old onw. The good thing about buying from John Lewis is that I knew that, if I didn't think it was worth the upgrade, I could always return it; but I'm 100% convinced I'l keep it now. Thank OP; you saved me £749. Here., have a drink on me...

    Hey!
Awesome news. Glad it helped. Mine arrives on Saturday and coming from a £39 ikea job, I’m sure it’ll be much better for working at the desk all day.
The deal landed like a lead balloon. I know that, to many it’s a niche purchase and costly, but if you WFH a lot you’ll know the benefits of a decent chair and what they usually cost. I was stoked to get it at this price
