Details

The summer heat can be unpredictable, which is why you need a multi-functional air con unit to match.

Bring in this HOMCOM ac unit which does four jobs. It cools, ventilates, dehumidifies and also has a sleep mode. 'Cool' keeps the area at a constant temperature, 'ventilate' controls the speed of the fan, 'dehumidify' dries out the moisture in the air and 'sleep' gradually increases the temperature by 1 °C every hour.

Features

  • 4-IN-1 DESIGN: Cool, ventilate, dehumidify and sleep: switches between keeping the area at a specific temperature, blowing the fan around, drying the moisture out of the air and gently increasing the temperature every hour. The portable aircon unit is suitable for use all day long and in different climates.
  • AUTO CUT-OFF: Automatically stops when the tank is full, safely preventing it from overfilling and causing damage. A 24-hour timer allows you to set a specific running time, especially when sleeping. EER A grade is perfect for saving electricity.
  • EASY CONTROL: This mobile air conditioner features an on-unit LED screen and also comes with a remote. 'Sleep' mode can only be set up with the remote. Control requires 2 x AAA batteries (not included). REMOVABLE AIR FILTER: Keeps the air hygienically clean.
  • EXHAUST HOSE INCLUDED: The portable air conditioning must be used with the pipe to work. REFRIGERANT R290 to deliver instant cooling for home and office.

Do these cost much to run

Power states as 860W, which I think is pretty low energy.

We had a air conditioning unit which was 2.4Kwh.

If this is genuinely 860kwh, then it’ll cost you roughly 30p to run per hour - but depends on your electric tariff.

Does anyone know if the remote control for it is radio frequency or Infra red.. I'm wanting to learn it into my multifunctional learning remote control so I can use everything on one remote instead of having a bunch of them lying around.. Tia guys

It's infra red. In the troubleshooting section of user manual under unresponsive remote it states "The distance between the machine
and the remote control is too far.
The remote control is not aligned
with the direction of the remote
    control receiver"

Can you use these on open out windows?
    TekWoodyatt1's avatar
yeah you just need a window seal. they don’t last long tho bc the hot air wears down the adhesive. they’re only around 10-20 on amazon tho so not a big deal.

Great that it's not bog-standard white too, as I find that white stands out and black tends to blend in better (unless you live in an all white box of course!)

Dang it, I live in a white box 📦

My Homcom unit had a fault within 2m, just to be warned. They refunded me for it, but i have to tilt the unit back with a metal wedge because it will think the water tank is full otherwise.

I'm sure this wouldn't have a water tank as its air con

I'm torn between this and £200 Pifco 9k BTU one at home bargains
    crazylegs's avatar
This one the nicer looking unit and won't turn yellowish in a year or two's time like most white plastic ones will

Ordered, will work wonders for my little office. Thanks, OP!

Just to follow up, I had this running for an hour tonight and brought down the temperature of my 19m2 room from 26° to 22° within an hour. It is quite loud, but running this in a room for an hour before you plan on going to bed or lounging around will allow you to avoid the noise. It's worth every penny so far. Let's see if it lasts.

Ordered. Thanks for this! Definitely cheaper than most I've seen

    Great price
Most units you will need to buy a window kit off Amazon as they come with slide/sash window fitment as standard

No mention of any warranty/guarantee anywhere? Please advise as I’d rather buy from somewhere with some sort of protection

Looks like maybe finished at 11pm?

Edit it is showing again and works for me. Cooy voucher to clipboard from "show me how" on ebay page and it should be OK.

But 5 mins ago the page no longer showed "save 46" (edited)

Absolute bargain for when prices for similar models are at least double on ebay. It seems like it's built similar to the meacool range which has the same ish design.
