No mid contract price hikes ..

Hyperoptic is one of the very few broadband providers with no inflation linked price increases mid contract using sneaky T&C like BT, Vodafone, talk talk or Virgin Media.

I tried getting the May version of this.
They told me it’s a promotion from an affiliate site that they’re not responsible for so won’t offer it to existing subscribers.

I’ve been with them for 4+ years and have never paid less than £40 for the 1GB package which I’m currently on. Originally, they said because I’ve been loyal the best they would offer me is £47/m for 12 months. When I told them I’d like to cancel they called me the next day saying they would offer me £43 or £41 for 24 months but would be “willing to match another provider’s offer” if I found an equivalent deal elsewhere.

As with everything from banking to phone providers, they’ve no reason to try to be competitive to keep existing customers so absolutely no reason to be loyal.

If they give you any tosh like this again, here the paper flyer that came through my door today. Show them this

Yawn. Hyper boring again. They have probably the lowest coverage in the UK. Avoid them like the plague as their customer service is as bad as their coverage.
    Akshai_Raj's avatar
I've been using their service for two years. Never had to ring their customer care since there wasn't any issues at all.
  3. GeorgeZ's avatar
So what happens if I want to cancel before the 24th month period?
    Kbramman's avatar
Some companies will allow early release without charge if they can’t provide service to a new address, Hyperoptic make it clear in their terms that you pay the full amount outstanding.

I can't wait to get off virgin, their prices for long term customers is appalling as you're held hostage over the email accounts.
    n3rding's avatar
Never use your internet provider for email, register for an independent account now and start migrating off, unsubscribe from all the trash only move what’s important.. I use gmail, but take your pick
  5. Miii's avatar
They didn't let me switch:/ since Im mid contract
    tommytbone1's avatar
    Very ambitious ask
  6. Jacial's avatar
Is this only for new customers? I want to cancel my plan to get this
    Gidam's avatar
If that helps anyone, I asked them if I could use this deal to extend my existing contract that's due next month. That's their reply.

    Thank you for your email.

June Deal is an introductory offer and can only be applied if the customer doesn't already have Hyperoptic service up and running.

These are the best upgrade offers we have at the moment:

    12-month commitment:

    1Gb/s Broadband Only - £48
    750Mb/s Broadband Only - £44
    500Mb/s Broadband Only - £41
    250Mb/s Broadband Only - £38

    Caution.
They use CGNAT (CGN). If you need public IP address you have to buy it for £5/month.
    markdigi's avatar
Also a quick note, this applies only to a public IPv4 address (your classic 111.222.333.444). You will still get a unique public IPv6 address.

For anyone who is getting the error message "Sorry, the promo code you’ve entered does not apply to this package" I just called them and got the deal over the phone.

I was on a 12 month contract ending in August 2023. I called the renewal department and they have given me this deal on a new 24 months contract.

If you are an existing customer, call and ask, it worked out for me.
  10. f1p's avatar
I am on the 1Gbps @ £20/m deal from 2021 which expires in 4 months time.

Just called Hyperoptic asking if I can renew to the new tariff and they said becuase I am already on a promotional tariff they cannot apply new promotions to my account, I can only downgrade...
    haa0518's avatar
Downgrade and upgrade? New contract on partners name?
  11. toonsquirel's avatar
Is it actually available? For a laugh I tried every different postcode in my area, I tried all ky family and friends from around the uk including big cities etc and it’s not available anywhere.
    Badongkadong's avatar
I found most of these fibre offers are just London centric. That's fine but it should be advertised more clearly.
  12. smush's avatar
Great deal for the 100 or so people that are in the area they supply as per
  13. XYZ787's avatar
No idea why they didn't offer these deals before VM inflated theirs in April (edited)
  14. mdcrawley's avatar
I signed up 3 days ago on their may deal as I thought that was the best they'd do, went for 500MB for £38 p/month with 3 months free. Just called and they were happy to switch me across to the 1GB offer, so twice the speed for less than half the price. No 3 months free but total package cost for the two years has gone from £798 to £432, saving me £366 over the 2 years, or £15.25 per month and still getting their top speed! Definitely a bargain!!
  15. shawnlee's avatar
Only available for a quarter square mile of central London..
  16. skeptic's avatar
This is sooooo cheap compared to my renewal of Virgin BB at £40 pm for 350mb. But virgin run a monopoly round here unless I want less than 20mb service which won't be good for WFH. Don't understand how this is allowed to continue when the government like to say they are all over stopping monopolies aka Activision
    nonameduser's avatar
I was in the same boat as you but took a punt on 5g BB and it was a game changer. 18quid a month, unlimited data and get 150-200mb speed.
  17. akkyb's avatar
Great prices I am on 150mb £20 for another year

if its not available in your area its worth keep registering your interest. I was offered to be the 'champion' for my area, had to do a few little bits but got a year of 1gb for free
    B7869's avatar
What did you have to do as a champion?
  24. iamramboy's avatar
Unreal offer, I pay £30/month for 500mbps with BT which is a good deal in itself. If only this was available in my area

Same as the post for May that was on here. For me at least, it does not work:

Not available at my address. So far ever since I heard about them many years ago, I have moved 5 addresses in 3 cities and still haven't been in their coverage yet...
    DexterMorgan's avatar
Really? I thought they're quite popular... In our building we basically dropped a message in the residents group asking everyone to register interest and it was installed in the building not long after
  38. camaj's avatar
Great deal for 1gb. Community Fibre is the next cheapest at £25/month who are currently offering no set up fee until the 30th June (worth £15)
