I used to work for a motor factor that sold brake discs and pads online, 95% of the sales were for the budget brands like drivetec etc.

The sales advert never mentioned the brands of the parts purchased, as they would get the cheapest part in to post out, this didn't bother the buyers

Point i'm making is, majority of the cars on the road have budget parts installed on them.

Frankly, I'd take these over some of the branded ones I've used in the past.
Fitted these to my old car - front and rear - and they lasted just fine.

People seem to think that Brembo pads are great, because they make decent braking systems.....
I'd beg to differ. Have one that wore completely weirdly and another that cracked in the middle.

    They look quality...... not

Thanks OP I bought these but they didn't fit my calipers. I used my Dremel to chop off them daft bits at the sides and just used no more nails to stick them on the pistons. That should see me through .

as much as people are reporting this to be budget, drivetec is actually really reliable brake pads and sell a high-quality product compared to other "budget" brands.

To be fair we get very few of these back under warranty at GSF.Probably get more of the dearer brand back

As I said above about Brembo brake pads. Absolute tosh they were.

Had some Ferodo ones that were rubbish too - they cracked as well - I think I may still have one of those about which I kept to show someone.

It seems the underlying logic here is:

...as brakepads are so mission critical, the liability and loss of business would be so great, that the pads have been spec't to be reliable...

....GSF sell so many of these that it's worth maintaining a decent reputation via quality control.

    I'll buy that.
