It appears Barbour are doing jackets for roadmen nowadays...

    What is a roadman?

Is the sizechart right? Like small chest size 43 inches !? (edited)
    CheekyMunkey's avatar
No. Its wrong. Have a look at the Barbour website. Ive looked at Barbour jackets before and the JL chart is wayyy off.

I have about 10 Barbour, mostly high quality working full wax natural lined, but some Townie fashion light ones. I have just taken a punt for the Barbour International Keelman Wax Jacket, in Dirty Khaki. Not top end but value at this price despite the 'baffle' cheap lining - it is otherwise 6oz waxed cotton with metal zip(not plastic TAT) NOTE - NO WASHING of garment, sponge clean only. Good for Town Autumn wear onwards. Shop Scotland suppliers unless you want 'made to measure' (invite only by those in the know) for real country attire ones. HOT - thanks OP. That time of the year when Barbour/International dump off so called Barbour wear to the masses. Hey, just bought one so that's me. Buy one, bit of a steal.

    Good information
Is the sizing ok? I'm scared to buy without trying.
    I'm 5 10" , medium build.
I usually find medium fits but bought a RAB waterproof recently and was tight across chest and large was too big.
The Barbour quilted jackets.....some look big on....others look quite "" fitted"".
  4. john_n3MU's avatar
careful of some Barber. Look up on their website as to trimming of styles. I settle for 2XXL (49" chest - 40" waist)to fit my shoulders and International are slimmer than Barbour Field ones(designed to fit over several layers) which can be massive. International, I do not wear with anything other than light shirts. Please do check the Barbour site for the info though. All retailers will take returns and swap out. Enjoy and do buy a decentish one. Summary is most International tend to be 'Fit true to size'

Elwin Large arrived 2 days ago. Massive. Returning.

Elvin Medium arrived yesterday. Still slightly bigger than I'd like, hem is longer than expected and no draw cord annoyingly, but can manage it so may keep.

    Terrance Medium arrived yesterday......HUGE. lol.
I really like it....great looking jacket and ultra warm. But...it's proper Michelin man style. Shame no Small as I would have been content.
Returning also along with Elwin large.

These jackets I feel are bigger fitting than normal. I know I've lost a stone but I've never been a Small. Yet with these a small in either would most likely fit perfect.

Barbour International and Barbour - although the same 'family' are totally different brands. If you want the classic country stuff, you need Barbour. International is inspired by motorbiking... And not for me... Good prices though, so voted hot.

Just noticed there are a couple of Barbour items. (edited)

No waxed classic models? If you need sth. like these puffers, seems solid deal, but it's a pass for me.

Hoping it may fit being a tailored fit even with the extra 2inch on chest. 42.5

I wasn't leaving without buying one of them lol.

    GaryCrossan's avatar
What size did you get and did it fit ok?
  21. Ali_Boro's avatar
Anyone ordered a L Terrance, and wants to return, il buy it off them
    GaryCrossan's avatar
There's plenty of Large available in lots of stores. You can look on the item and " check stock in store".
They'll hold it for you to collect or if you can't collect you can ask them to deliver it. Store must have at least 3 available to request reservation or delivery.Same prices.
I called Newcastle and they got back to me in 2hrs after requesting a medium. Fortunately one came back online and I didn't need their assistance.

Barbour still make some very nice jackets such as the Corbridge, but my all time favourite jacket was All saints Faux Viser that was a Collab with British Mill. Unfortunately they stopped making them but some still pop up on eBay and Vinted from time to time.
