I'm a seller on amazon. We have until midnight to confirm before due date. If not then the store gets a penalty of late dispatch. Has to be under 97% in a 30 day period. So they either have to cancel or dispatch by noon pretty much
    TomRiley's avatar
I literally said midnight. To be precise 2359....

NEGATIVE FEEDBACK ON EBAY IF ITEMS ARE CANCELLED.

    Nah, that's unfair.

    Same here, Ebay order cancelled.

TBH I was expecting this, as we all were. However, like others i'm annoyed at the cancellation reason that the 'buyer requested cancellation'. So, I've raised a case with Ebay, and yes, I will be leaving negative feedback..

BTW, you can leave negative feedback on Ebay even if its cancelled with the reason 'buyer requested cancellation' - you have to wait 7 days.

Whilst I do feel for those out of pocket for a few days waiting for a refund, the majority who buy online use credit cards and it will make no difference, I am normally all over glitches but with this one the amount of orders going through and the fixed £5.99 for everything I decided to pass, 60% off everything I could understand but a £150 coat for £5.99 and a £15 T-shirt for £5.99 made no sense. Maybe some orders will slip through, but it was highly unlikely most were going to get the items so you need to just take it on the chin and move on.

Cancelled. Spoke with Amazon who refused any sort of apology
    Willy_Wonka's avatar
    Why should Amazon apologise?
  11. hmsrobinson's avatar
You get strikes as a seller every time you cancel an order. I don't think they can cancel all these orders without getting suspended from Amazon and eBay. Also too many negative reviews would also lead to losing their accounts.

I think they'll either have to accept they are going to lose their accounts or fulfill these orders. Unless eBay and Amazon make an exception for them.

Btw don't leave bad feedback for them if they do cancel. It's clearly a misprice error that is very easy to do on repricing software. (edited)
    kizzaleet's avatar
Amazon and eBay won’t penalise a big company for pricing errors. They want the % from there future sales.
  12. Adriatique's avatar
One of my eBay items cancelled 3 still pending, why not cancel them altogether. !
    doppo666's avatar
The pending ones click on each one and select “item has not arrived”

this stops trespass cancelling them all saying the buyer requested and leaves you the option of leaving negative feedback then
  13. mrb30's avatar
    It's not a glitch, it's a sale
  14. blitzsah's avatar
Got to be honest putting the reason as “Buyer asked to cancel the order” is a bit of a joke. Will be reporting
    PIOM's avatar
Similar response by Amazon "there was a problem with your bank so we cancelled your order". I didn't want any coupons from Amazon or anything but I did want to leave a negative feedback, but Amazon makes it look like it never happened...

I have received 3 items today which were sold by Tresspass but fulfilled by Amazon.
    bhunterno1's avatar
Were they part if the £5.99 deal?
  17. danant's avatar
It’s not a glitch, they are just clearing old stock they can’t shift anywhere else. Most of it isn’t worth anything more than £5.99.
None of their products are ever sold at ‘full price’.

Happy days then but while some of it meant to be sale I'm sure it does feel like somebody did drag and drop on price column.

You can't even ship some of those products for £5.99.

For those harping on about citizens advice, raising complaints and quoting spurious 'my friend said this' nonsense; the below is directly from the Trespass terms and conditions - freely available on their website. So no, they have absolutely no obligation to fulfill any of these orders and are perfectly entitled to cancel them:

'When you place an order, you will receive an acknowledgement e-mail confirming receipt of your order. This email will only be an acknowledgement and will not constitute acceptance of your order. Jacobs and Turner Ltd (T/A Trespass) retains the right to accept or reject this offer before processing the order. A contract between us for the purchase of the goods will not be formed until your payment has been approved by us, the prices have been verified, and the order has been processed and dispatched. A second email will be sent confirming these arrangements.' (edited)

    Dispatched is key.
  19. andywedge's avatar
Both my orders cancelled by Tresspass. My email states that "Buyer asked to cancel the order" which clearly is a total lie.
    Willy_Wonka's avatar
    Oh come on Andy.

I thought better of you. That is the only way they can do it without coughing up thousands to ebay.

You are getting your money back for an blatant error they made. Stop complaining

Nice “glitch” ! We just made them best seller for almost everything without cost.

On the eBay side, they cancelled orders by saying “Requested by Buyer”, so Trespass’ shop rating won’t get affected and buyer can’t leave comments about the purchase.

    UPDATE Inventory

    WHERE /*Sh*t I forgot the where clause*/
  30. dynamac's avatar
This is an unfortunate case of a big enough company with a genuine mistake but non existent crisis management plan. If senior management don't do their job, you gotta pay the price with your reviews.

    Let me have a go:

    Step 1 stop all despatches
    Step 2 correct pricing system
Step 3 email all affected with apology and 10% off your next purchase on website. Follow up with time frame for cancellation and refund.
Step 4 work with ebay/amazon relationship manager to find best way to cancel and refund quickly.
Step 5 identify reason for error and put in safeguard.

I did that in 2 minutes and I'm not an ceo of anything.

I think no customer would have been upset all all in this case. (edited)
    Willy_Wonka's avatar
See, here lies an issue. This is why your example will not work & this is what Trespass did wrong.

Stopping dispatching doesn't mean stopping all orders. Dispatching is done from the Trespass warehouse & happens after the order process.
Increasing prices did not stop people ordering & maintained stock levels so people could still order thus removing the ability to mark stock as out of stock & more importantly removing the auto-ability to cancel previous orders automatically that were made at £5.99.

It is not as straight forward as it seems. It seems Trespass made the similar mistakes to you. (edited)

Just had a look at my order and been given a refund! What I couldn’t BELIEVE is that people have left negative feedback. Come on people we knew it was you got to be in it to win it and was a glitch. Yes they should have handled it better by an immediate blanket apology saying “whoops we’ve made a silly mistake please accept our apologies etc”  but leaving negative feedback is REALLY out of order! I hope they get it taken off because we ALL KNEW that it was a 99% probability that we wouldn’t be getting this!!!!

One T-shirt delivered... 20 some odd other items still awaiting dispatch. Not holding my breath for the rest but at least I got something

T-shirts are normally £3.99 but the pricing error means you paid £5.99…
    Well done though!

    Phil452's avatar
I never leave negative feedback, but on eBay, if they do use the "Buyer requested to cancel" trick, I will leave them negative for all my items, if they admit its a pricing error then that's fair enough, but don't pin it on me!
