The winner and guest will stay for two nights, B&B, in a lakeside suite at Storrs Hall. Built in the 1790s, it occupies one of the loveliest spots on Windermere and mixes Georgian elegance with lush colour schemes, giant headboards and a liberal sprinkling of antiques. Its chic and contemporary suites deepen the sense of sanctuary with sliding walls of glass and woodland views.
For dinner there is a fine-dining restaurant and the brand-new Bistro, looking south along the lake and serving French-inspired treats such as fillet steak with garlic mayonnaise. .
