eBay Free Delivery Labels For Sellers & Additional Protections with Authenticity Guarantee

In October, we announced that we would provide you with free labels to send your Authenticity Guarantee-eligible sneakers to our Authentication facility once your items sell. Free delivery labels are now available to you for new and updated Authenticity Guarantee-eligible sneaker listings when eBay delivery is the default domestic delivery service. eBay delivery labels are not available for items located in excluded postcodes (for full details please see our Seller FAQs) or on orders £75,000 and above. Where applicable, these free labels will provide you with loss and damage protections during the initial leg of delivery to the authentication centre.

Start benefitting from the free shipping label and additional protections now

To take advantage of the free delivery labels and protections where applicable, all you need to do is revise your existing Authenticity Guarantee-eligible sneaker listings. This won’t take much time, and you only need to do two things:

  • 1.

Remove any references to delivery services or free delivery from your listing titles.
  • 2.

Check that your domestic delivery service is set to eBay delivery powered by DPD.
You’ll need to log in to ebay.co.uk to benefit from this new feature. Your free label will be available on My eBay or Seller Hub. Items located in excluded postcodes (for full details please see our Seller FAQs) or orders £75,000 and above are not eligible for the free delivery label.

Note: If you are one of our sellers integrated with API, please see additional details.

How do eBay delivery labels work?

eBay has made sending items easy. After you pack your item securely, where applicable print the free DPD delivery label and stick it to your package. You’ll need to log in to ebay.co.uk to take advantage of this new feature, and it’ll be available in My eBay or Seller Hub. Then, drop the package off at your local DPD drop off location.

If no action is taken, eBay may end listings for Authenticity Guarantee-eligible sneakers where eBay delivery is available but is not set as the default domestic delivery service in the future. To avoid potential disruptions to your business, we strongly suggest that you update your listings.

eBay's Authenticity service - great idea, but know of individual sellers who've found it a nightmare in practice!

Service repeatedly failing to provide authentication on goods that were originally purchased direct from the manufacturers' own web store! (multiple goods, different brands).

Any reason given - no, generic 'sorry failed our authentication' with no reason given. Why; is it because you don't have an expert for this item, are you unhappy with the quality, or do you suspect it's a fake? - refuse to answer, repeat statement. Any detail of who's responsible for assessment - no, refuse to provide. Any avenue for reassessment - no, refuse to take a second look. Outcome: sale is cancelled and are banned from relisting the item. Potential customer believes you are selling fakes.

Suspect ebay wants to give the impression of a pro-consumer (buyer) service, but it's actually about pushing private sellers away and favouring the big companies. For high-value items, it lowers risk for them and is in line with previous policy changes (can't negative rate buyers, auto-refund purchaser etc.). (edited)
