Mattress/Bed

I've had my bed for over 10 years now and I think my old bones need something a bit more cushioning :-)
I'm not sure whether to replace the entire bed or just the mattress and I guess it depends on the deal. What are the best mattresses/beds to buy that guarantees comfort (or at least promises it)? Thank you.

My nearly a millionaire friend spent £7000 on a specially made king size mattress and after six months put it in their spare room as they hated it. My parents spend £1000 on a 32cm deep pocket sprung one and it lasts 10years. I spend £200 on a mattress and buy a new one every two/three years so that it never gets to that sunken stage where you lay.

It’s very subjective and you really only choose by going to the shops and laying on them.

What type of bed is it, they usually last until you want a different style/type? I would imagine it's just a mattress you need as 10 years about the right time to buy a new one.

As for what type of mattress it really depends what you like. soft, medium, firm springs, no springs. Were you happy with your mattress when you bought it if so go for the same type.

beds can last forever, but the mattress could do with replacing. i prefer orthopaedic mattresses as they give the body a lot of support during sleep. the pocket spring ones are good.

I suggest you go to Dreams Bed, they have good varieties of beds and mattresses. They have this bed where you lay on it , at different positions for 3 minutes, then it recommendeds a mattress that's suitable for you.

They offer 100-Night Comfort Guarantee, if you were not happy with it they'll exchange it.

They also do bed assembly at reasonable price.

Before visiting their store go through their website and see what style of bed you like.

    I agree

I did the Sleepmatch test at Dreams, bought a mattress, decided it was not suitable (after trying it for a while), swapped it and now have one I'm happy with

    Dreams were very helpful throughout

Pocket sprung Milbrook, double-sided. We like it as it doesn't overheat and turnable.
Had it a few years now and the edges are still firm too.
Avoid the heavily marketed foam specials.

Bought a Silentnight 7 layer memory foam one 9 years ago, put on a new bed and with the new slats seems firm now. Bought on Amazon for £140 on a deal now £204.
