What’s New & Coming To Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+, Apple TV+, NOW & Paramount+ Streaming Services?

Update 1
Updated for April
This is the new streaming thread for 2024, which comprises of a rundown of what’s new and what's to come from the likes of Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+, Apple TV+, NOW and Paramount+ each month. We have listed each of the TV shows and films in order of release date under each header below, so you are able to scan through them more easily.

These lists will be updated each month to coincide with further new and upcoming releases. If there are any missing that you happen to spot then please pop them into the comments and we will look to add them into the thread.

A few highlights from April include:

Ripley - 4th April (Netflix)
Based on Patricia Highsmith’s bestselling Tom Ripley novels, Steve Zaillian’s drama introduces us to Tom, a grifter scraping by in early 60s New York. He’s hired by a wealthy industrialist to travel to Italy to try to convince the man’s dilettante son, Dickie Greenleaf, to return home. Accepting the job is Tom’s first step into a complex life of deceit, fraud, and murder.

Fallout - 11th April (Amazon Prime Video)
Based on the hit video game series, Fallout is the story of haves and have-nots in a world in which there’s almost nothing left to have. 200 years after the apocalypse, the gentle denizens of luxury fallout shelters are forced to return to the irradiated hellscape their ancestors left behind — and are shocked to discover an incredibly complex, gleefully weird and highly violent universe waiting for them.

Wish - 3rd April (Disney+)
In this animated musical-comedy, Asha, a sharp-witted idealist, makes a powerful wish that’s answered by Star, a ball of boundless energy. Soon, Asha and Star must face a formidable foe and prove that one brave human can make wondrous things happen.

Sugar - 5th April (AppleTV+)
Colin Farrell exec-produces this noir thriller and stars as John Sugar, an American private investigator on the heels of the mysterious disappearance of Olivia Siegel, the beloved granddaughter of legendary Hollywood producer Jonathan Siegel. As Sugar tries to determine what happened to Olivia, he will also unearth Siegel family secrets; some very recent, others long-buried.

Oppenheimer - 12th April (NOW & Sky Cinema)
During World War II, Lieut-General Leslie Groves Jr appoints physicist J Robert Oppenheimer to work on the top-secret Manhattan Project. Oppenheimer and a team of scientists spend years developing and designing the atomic bomb. Their work comes to fruition on July 16, 1945, as they witness the world’s first nuclear explosion, forever changing the course of history.

Knuckles - 27th April (Paramount+)
Idris Elba reprises the vocals of the Sonic sidekick in this spin-off from the Sonic the Hedgehog films, which gives Knuckles his own solo outing. Taking place between Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and 3, it sees Knuckles train Wade as his protégé and teach him the ways of the Echidna warrior. All episodes arrive at once.

This week I set up Real Debrid on all of the tellys and devices in the house and we finally binned off all these rip-off streaming providers for good. Netflix alone is practically double what it was when it launched, and just not worth it. And that's just one of them!

The lot of them need to get together and deliver an umbrella service for everything, but they'll never do it because greed.
    Enchante's avatar
So what you are actually saying is you now pay money for a device that illegally accesses links of the content created by these rip off merchants that’s supported by paying subscribers ?

Not exactly a viable alternative tbh

What's New & Coming to Amazon Prime?

    Adverts.
    jono1975's avatar
Yep, I know I don't watch prime much and it seems they just use freevee instead now but it's not like Jeff is short of a bob or two, maybe he should stop playing with his second rate rockets.

But other than the photo storage and delivery service is prime value anymore.

I'll look to see if I can find another online photo storage service cheaper then decide. Good old HDDs are great but less convenient. (edited)

Bosch Legacy S2 is out on October 20th. It's now on Freevee not strictly Prime video so I thought it was worth mentioning.
    Rob_Samsung's avatar
Nice one. Didn't know season 2 on the way. Shame it'll have the adverts though.
  5. zchari5's avatar
I have 3 of these (Prime, Disney and Netflix) and gotta say the few times I use them I spend more time trying to find something decent than actually enjoying wathcing anything. thisismoney.co.uk/mon…tml

I'm tempted to get rid of all of them (except may be Prime as I like the delivery service)

PS Rebel Moon is pants but Saltburn was all right. Dune was good but was on Prime and then now Netflix which seems increasingly common (with one service losing some content only for it to appear on another). Terrestrial TV is just as good if not better with the Traitors/ Survivors/ Snowfall/ the Post Office thing and far fewer but often AAA films rather than 2000 films which should have never been made (I'm fed up of seeing mediocre films)
    Newbold's avatar
I keep Prime for the delivery service. Rarely use it for videos etc. Freeview does us for pretty much everything, without cost. Most decent stuff finds its way there in due course.

Slow Horses season 3 on Apple tv at the end of the month.

Thank goodness I got another free offer a couple of weeks ago.

The main thing that's coming is adverts. And when that happens, they can all get in the bin. Yarr! (edited)

    I totally agree!

I think with some more thought this could be better but BING gave me the above just using the following prompt:

"Please could you create a list with show (with a brief description) and release date please?

The Prank Panel - 1st November
    The Kardashians: Season 4 (Episode 6) - 2nd November
    Loki: Season 2 (Episode 5) - 2nd November

if you're into anime, check out Blue Eye Samurai on Netflix. I'm not a huge anime watcher but I have watched Castlevania and edge runners on Netflix and now BES and i've been very impressed.
    luffydude's avatar
Those are not actually anime. Attack on Titan is probably the best anime on Netflix

The Castlevania spinoff is w oak. It's insane how they turn a game about slaying dracula around Europe into colonial era plantation people trade

Exactly. Ditch the lot & switch to Freeview with a Humax.

Result? Huge monthly savings, a massive amount piled up on the Humax to choose from, no adverts to endure. Only downside is FOMO and waiting a bit longer for movies!

What stands out to me it what absolute garbage the BBC's output is even though it costs more than any of the streaming services.
    ian.walker's avatar
Interesting. I have an opposing opinion however - to my mind the BBC consistently produces the best drama, comedy and entertainment of any provider out there.

How many adaptations of the Enfield hauntings do we need? Was already covered in The Conjuring 2 and the Timothy Spall mini-series recently. Far more than some laughable photos of kids bouncing on a mattress and practicing their voice throwing deserves...

Frustrating that Lower Decks got moved to Paramount+

More is less - I still find nothing of interest to watch Bring back the old days. 3 channels, no remote, farming all day Saturday morning on TVS, Sport on 1 & 3 all day Saturday and a test card to watch on BBC2 - ahhhhh, the good old days (edited)

It feels like finding good tv and films has never been harder even though it’s at your fingertips. There are a billion shows on but the overall quality has diminished.
    Newbold's avatar
Absolutely. Which is why I stick to Freeview. It’s mainly FOMO that drives the subscription services. I have a Humax with hundreds of hours of Freeview stuff we haven’t had time to watch!

The Gentlemen series on netflix is great.

Have heard its good, but I dislike anything with Vinnie Jones in.
    Others I avoid are
    Jason Stathem
    Adam Sandler
    Nicolas Cage
    Ben Stiller
    Mark Walberg
    Jim Carrey
    Russell Brand
    Sacha Baron Cohen
But the worst of all is
    Steven Seagal
(but you can't really call him an actor, the same goes for quite a few on my above list)
Edit - I completely forgot about this clown to put on this list, he so irritates me, and I know a lot of you will say "whattt"...

That 007 show was an insult to the viewer. Clearly, there was never any risk to them. It was badly edited to hell, and why not give each set of contestants the exact same challenge? The end one was particularly unfair on the two guys.

I watched the trailer. It's an abuse of the franchise and fans of 007. It looked absolutely low-grade junk.

Thanks. I subsribed to NowTV a couple of months back on the £1 deal but they don't seem to add much at all.

Definitely recommend Sweet Home on Netflix

Other than that gotta say that all these big corporations are so focused on churning out quantity that 95% of it is just pure stinky garbage (edited)
