iPhone back glass smashed

Back glass of my wife’s iPhone 14 Plus broke when the phone fell down on the pavement. I am looking for best option for repair. We dont have Apple Care. Should I go for Apple Store repair or any other options are suitable?

OMG - I just re-read that - why bother replacing the rear glass? It doesn't affect functionality - it's cosmetic damage. Just get a cheap case?

It would probably be cheaper to replace the phone - third parties can replace the screen, however to have everything functioning as it once did they need access to Apple propriety tools - I doubt that repair shop in the high street would have the required tools.
Taking it to Apple with likely cost half to two thirds the cost of a new handset!

I checked it’s £200 in Apple Store. Considering it’s 14 Plus, I am inclined to spend that. Will you think it will be a wise move?

Do you have phone insurance through your bank or home insurance contents insurance or anything? If not, Apple is the best place for this repair (edited)

I got my local phone shop who have a good reputation to put me a second hand front screen on my 13 pro for £100
came up in settings for a week or so but no issues now
Apple shop wouldn’t repair it as it was bent by 1mm

Baffling how easily some phones break.
I tried everything to damage the screen on my Lenovo tablet, I couldn't even scratch the screen with a sharp knife, I even used a hammer on it. (Whatever is behind the glass had failed so the tablet was no use to me). Great glass though!

Not repair it. It is likely to break again. Just get a phone case.
