previously, gore-tex would be waterproof, infinium is water repellant; gore have opened up a can on worms on this choice in branding IMO
Can't believe just how thin the material is!
I am comparing it to my 13-year-old Berghaus Choktoi Pro II - which was described as a Soft shell/fleece when I bought it (it is still in working order - just looks a bit old)
The Scimitar looks and feels like it is 50% lighter/thinner - will definitely need to layer up - even in Autumn.
With the Choktoi, I could get away with wearing it with just a normal jumper on a windy Autumn day when the temps are still around 12-15c.
Plus there is only a single zip pull on each of the Scimitar armpits - the Choktoi had two - so you have much more flexibility on just how much of your armpit to open up.
Sorely tempted to send it back - but I know I won't get back the £5 postage cost and will have to pay the return cost....hmm....

Did for me? Did you create a new account?
That said, I'd rather just get Pac-Lite or standard Gore-Tex for a jacket (depending on use case).
