About this deal

The best price I’ve ever seen for these.

I always keep an eye out because I like to have the full size ones rather than the Minis.

Lowest I’ve ever managed to get one for is £164.99 using similar offers, so this is another great price.

I know they’re not really popular or to everyone’s taste, but they are still very good speakers and a big saving over the newer version 2s which don’t offer a whole lot of extra features in my opinion and, from a purely speaker point of view, has arguably a better spec.

A comparison can be found on this link for anyone interested: https://istyle.ae/blog/homepod-1-vs-homepod-2-what-are-the-differenes#:~:text=The%20new%20HomePod%20is%20more,when%20you%20interact%20with%20it.

You can also only pair Version 1s with Version 1s in Stereo pairs and it is 100% worth having them in a pair! I would definitely recommend getting a second one for a pair if you already own a 1st gen.

They are still getting regular updates as well, contrary to some reports.

And with the 6 month warranty you’re at least protected.

Happy buying!

I’ve been researching these all week and agree, I’m avoiding due to the overheating PSU problems it seems to have.

I went with 2x HomePod mini’s for the kitchen and they sound pretty good in stereo pair mode, and are easier to place in a small space.  They go for about £40 each used-mint.

Siri is still stupid though and you can’t trigger 6Music from the speakers.

I’ve have I 3 purchased in 2018 from Apple. All 3 still work and have no issues.

Good price. I love mine and you get proper 360 sound. Can be used as speakers for an Apple TV in a pair too. Honestly smart speaker wise I’ve yet to find anything that sounds this good in this size. YouTube music native support has been added as well. I bought one of these from red rock and it was identical to the one Apple sent me as a replacement. I did have one crap out on me but I’ve got 6 and had them years with no issues.

as a former Mk1 owner I would stay away from these as they are prone to power failure at any given point. It's a very common issue , check ebay on how many faulty ones that descriptions says " it just died one day "
I think mine was 8 months old renewed when it died , I found a chap on ebay who repaired the power board for £75 returned. I then sold it ASAP on ebay and bought the mk2 from O2 for £219. (edited)

All mine are mark 1. My faulty one got stuck on red ring boot loop and couldn’t be reset. Funnily enough it was the last one I’d bought.

I still keep trying to talk myself into getting one of these. I've got a very good radio in the kitchen, a decent internet enabled clock radio in the bedroom but I don't generally sit and listen to music in the living room though as that's generally done via YouTube and Vevo if i'm in the mood for tunes.

But I still like the idea of these though.

I have had two of these.

Both failed. One was repaired by Apple the other was not.

    They do sound superb though.
