James bond island (Khao Phing Kan) is around 30 miles away from central Phuket so easy enough to do an excursion there

Very good price for a direct flight. I didn't realise you could go direct from Manchester I've always either had to stop in Dubai or Abu Dhabi depending on airline.

Sometimes on a long journey it's good to have a layover, we have a full day layover in Oman, we can leave the airport and get Oman ticked off the list of countries we have visited

Just dont have a drink on the plane, as will still be in your system in Oman and and trouble and they will test

Assuming this is TUI, would it not be 20kg rather than 15 kg of adding hold baggage as it's long haul?

From going to Phuket many times, you only need to take shorts and tops and for a couple of pounds can get your clothing washed and ironed within 24hours.

Take the smart bus from Phuket airport which stops at most of the main beaches. Only about £2 per single journey. Buses are quite new and air conditioning. I purchased a 7 day pass and each day from my base took the bus to other beaches.

Taxis from Phuket airport especially at peak times are quite expensive around £30 and there can be a long wait. Take the smart bus to the nearest stop to your accommodate and then take a local tuk-tuk to your accommodations.
