Worth it for flight alone, then you can just skip Pattaya.

Pattaya is only worth visiting for the obvious. Koh chang is where I would head to, bit of a trek in a mini bus and short ferry but far nicer. Can book it before you go from the airport. If you do want to go to Pattaya Bell travel offer a reliable transfer coach for £5

I'm afraid you'll have to manually search it on the link as BA don't allow for a direct link: britishairways.com/tra…gb/

What’s more interesting is that BA are flying direct again to BKK, albeit from LGW and only 3 times a week.  Still it’s a start and hopefully will bring down the prices of other airlines.

I have followed your requirements exactly and BA returns a screen completely out of focus: never seen anything like it before!!

As others have said, Pattaya has one ‘attraction’. I lived a few miles away into the country for 3 years and only went there for shopping and a few remote beaches we found. An hour or so to Bangkok and 30 mins down to Koh Samet which is a lovely island. That makes it more attractive as well as being a great hopping off point to many beautiful islands. If you want culture, Pattaya will lose interest fast, and please don’t take kids…

    Sure it’s rainy season then?

near the end i think, rainy season starts April with the Songkran water festival. Best weather for Thailand is Dec to Feb when its a bit cooler and less humid, so should be ok. Phattya on the otherhand is an awful place, Koh Samet Island (2 hours drive east) is worth a visit for nice beach chalets. Hua Hin south of Bangkok is also decent.

it's crazy how this is the same price as an easy jet flight and basic accommodation in Italy for 5 nights
