About this deal
This deal is expired. Here are some options that might interest you:
Something has gone really wrong in Britain.
Our economy has tanked, our freedoms are shrinking, and social divisions are growing. Our politicians seem most interested in their own careers, and much of the media only make things worse. We are living in a country almost unrecognisable from the one that existed a decade ago. But whose fault is it really? Who broke Britain and how did they do it?
Bold and incisive as ever, James O'Brien reveals the shady network of influence that has created a broken Britain of strikes, shortages and scandals. He maps the web connecting dark think tanks to Downing Street, the journalists involved in selling it to the public and the media bosses pushing their own agendas. Over ten chapters, each focusing on a particular person complicit in the downfall, James O'Brien reveals how a select few have conspired - sometimes by incompetence, sometimes by design - to bring Britain to its knees.

Heated. Thanks for posting op.
It will change your life if u r not already listening.
He's a superb example of the pompous, superior, self-congratulatory attitudes which helped Remain to its hilarious 2016 defeat.
The wrong people become politicians - and for all the wrong reasons.
If we pay them more, then people complain about how many nurses that could be.
If they are all the brightest Oxbridge grads, then that attracts complaints too.
So we pay peanuts and guess what, we get monkeys. On all sides of the spectrum. None of them are any good. Look at the US - 350m people and Biden and Trump is the best they can come up with.
Democracy is also an illusion of control IMO - and the trade off of our X in a box once every 4 years is that politicians do what they think will get them votes, not what is actually the best thing to do for the country or its people.
Add to that a growth in population that our infrastructure simply can't cope with and you get the mess we are all seeing.
Still, it could be worse. Imagine being Haitian.
can't disagree with that........the SS Great Britain is a sinking ship
Brexit, Pandemic, Ukraine were three major causes.

"He smacks down Brexit bigots with FACTS and LOGIC."
The way people talk about him should give a clue. It's like modern day colosseums to satiate peoples desire for vitriol as a form of entertainment. Throwing random uneducated callers off the street in, to be smacked around with articles and paragraphs of EU legislation, to show how small and pathetic they should feel about themselves.
He never comes across as someone genuinely trying to expand understanding and empathy, just spreading more hate and negativity with tribal politics.
So something for nearly everyone here.
I've just read some of the free sample. Author is a very angry man. He has assembled a ton of mud to throw and is happy to throw it. There is no attempt to address alternative explanations, mitigating factors, context, reliability of data. James O'Brien uses phrases like "levers of power" and writes of "a country in complete thrall to the lies, prejudices and manipulations of what once would have been referred to as the ruling class".
His tone grates, the title for example "How they broke Britain" is suggestive of some sort of planned connective action, I don't think this is what is meant ( Jeremy Corbyn and Liz Truss in secret pact) but is perhaps more likely to sell books than "10 people who really get my goat and why you should call for their defenestration."
It has been broken by a public addicted to easy credit and instant gratification in a consumerist world.
Cheers OP, purchased
Yup, the NHS is free for grabs.
I had to wait for a doctor for over 10 hours two nights before Christmas eve.
Forget spending money where it's supposed to. Send it over this country and that country as "foreign aid".
