We got ours Free from the local police force in Leicestershire. Ask yours.

Yeah, some of the materials used in some of these pouches degrade and allow signal leakage after a while, so just be aware

Yes, I discovered yesterday that my latest ones have stopped working. So just be sure to periodically test them.

Some of these don't work! Test yours before relying on it.

Something to note, a lot of these pouches are made in such a way that when you think you’re putting the key into the protected part, you’re not. Have a look at yours, or try to open the car with the key in the pouch just to check.

Had several of these and every single one failed to block the signal after a few months. Have since bought a signal blocking box and have had no issues.
I suggest anyone who buys a pouch to check it still works on a regular basis.

Great price. Every new car should come with one of these as standard.

Wouldnt an old metal biscuit tin do the same thing at home?

    Yes

They don’t last for long and fail.

The way of solving this issue is forcing car manufacturers to include a simple switch on the key.

Get home and rather than faffing around with one of these naff pouches, slide a switch on the key and it turns off. Slide it on when you pick it up to go out.

Really handy, and a bargain at this price. A lot of vehicles could be saved from getting stolen if owners just spent a few pound on these. +heat

Problem is when take it out to use it - it has to be outside the cage and THATs when they get ya ! (edited)

Surely this prevents keyless entry and locking too which I find a really convenient feature? Suppose you have to choose between convenience and risk of copying.

These are primarily for when your keys are not needed i.e. when at home. Obviously you can choose to use it when out and about but that would as you say prevent the key working as intended.

Make sure you do your research on fariday pouches and boxes. They are not things you want to skimp on given they usually store keys for expensive cars

I have these for my spare keys to my wife's car which I don't often drive. Otherwise every time I walk down the drive with my bike her car unlocks and relocks which gets a bit annoying.
