I've got the older ones and they are brilliant as someone has pointed out if you have samsung phones. Batteries have been lasting me about a year.

When they work they work great however I've noticed the tag turns itself off and on again randomly like when you insert a new battery a tone plays. This significantly drains the battery of course apparently its a design flaw. But generally speaking it does work well

I had this noise happening all the time, until i found a bunch of people on a forum who advised to give the battery a wipe. Residue from the battery tab apparently. Havent heard that tone since!

Was very excited to get my set of these at the end of last year. But unfortunately had a terrible experience with them personally, thought that they were just a bad product in terms of battery life lasting around a week in my situation and an annoying random but all too frequent beeping. Given all the above, in the words of bricktop they seemed about as much use to me as an ashtray on a motorcycle, so back they went.

You might have got a bad one. I have a few of them and they are brilliant and the battery do last more than 9 months

I know people have been using airtags in their cars are potential trackers. Would this work the same? What sort of range are we talking? Miles?
    SuperCoolFunHappyGuy's avatar
Yes, you can place them in your car.

Range is not linked to your phone, instead it updates its location when another person with a Samsung device passes by and has their location enabled.

I've always been able to locate mine.

Watch this video, and note it applies to the previous generation tags, but you'll see how good they are,

The AR features only work on a few selected phones that have UWB support which are usually their flagship ones. For example the standard S22, S23 & S24 don't have it. The adverts / listings don't clearly explain this.

Old S21 ultra, AR works great.

significantly inferior to apple tags, not worth the price

    Any justification for that claim?

Still waiting for my order from November 2023 Every time I complain they just ask if I want to cancel or wait, while others claim to have been given compensation or offered to have 4 of the individual ones sent instead.

Just ordered these too and will see which order arrives first lol. (edited)

I really rate these, especially if in samsung ecosystem. Thanks for sharing the deal.
    umirza85's avatar
Same here but they don't work with the new Google ecosystem ones so not worth the investment now I think.

I won't ever not have these. Especially for luggage during holidays etc.

Always recommend these to family, and friends.

are those works similar way as apple airtags? if someone borrow my luggage at the airport will I be able to track it as long there is a GSM signal around?
    jb66's avatar
They use Bluetooth to connect to all other samsung phones to pinpoint location, a gsm tracker battery wouldn't last a day!

How do these compare to Tile?
    lutherinlondon's avatar
I have Tile, Apple Airtag and both the old and new SmartTag. The Apple and Samsung ones are a lot more accurate if an item ends up in the big wide world out of your control. If you're looking for something around the house though, they're all pretty much the same. For the money, if you're in the Samsung ecosystem these are a no brainer. I picked up this 4 pack from Amazon.com a few weeks ago when I was in LA for $75 and they've worked flawlessly.
