About this deal

Lithium batteries are common in kitchen scales, some toys and watches. Always good to have at home
When a toy or remote control suddenly stops working, it can be good to have new lithium batteries at home to quickly get things working again.

Looking at reviews online, ikea weren't rated good. Bumped across this review/comparison on YouTube and grabbed LiCB from amazon at £5.33 for 20 last week. I have quite a lot of smart home sensors using cr2032.

    LiCB x 20 now £6.99 unfortunately :/

These are cheap but I think this might be a “buy cheap, buy twice” situation, but still need to test since £1.50 is incredibly cheap so still voted hot.

I’ve got two Apple AirTags and swapped out the original Duracell OEM battery out of one of them for this IKEA one to test. Original Duracell is on my keys and the IKEA in my backpack, and they generally go the same places.

Original Duracell is still going strong, I’ve swapped out the IKEA battery twice over a period of 3 months. Will see what the cost ends up being! (edited)

I’ve been using these ikea batteries in all sorts of things (AirTags, heart rate monitors, bike sensors, smart decided etc) and never had any issues with battery life. In AirTags I get around 12 month from each so I can’t understand why your having to swap out so often!

I've had a poor experience with these, which is a shame given the reputation of other IKEA batteries like Ladda.

Usual price was £1 in 2022.

My experience with these batteries are that they can have low voltage. They are not manufactured in Japan unlike the rechargeable IKEA batteries. These batteries are made in China.

I find that Panasonic branded CR2032 batteries are far more reliable. (edited)

    If you've got a 24v time machine..............

Because of all the dubious cheap batteries on the market, especially these watch battery types that if bought from the Pound Shop bubble packs of 12 would last a few weeks apiece, I sought out better options.

Don't like the inconvenience of swapping out watch batteries in clocks, gadgets etc so turned to this company smallbattery.company.org.uk

They seem OK but I hope they're not just living off past times reputation nowadays. The site gives you good advice on which chemistry of battery is best for which purpose.

Does anybody know of a good brand of CR2032 batteries that actually last more than five minutes?

Duracell or Energiser from major supermarkets. 2 for £5-ish or 6 for £11-ish.

I agree with HoneyJamToast about these.
I've burned through a pack swapping out the battery on my daughter's car key fob.
Having to change it almost every month as her car won't start otherwise.
Works fine after that so definitely the battery dropping off voltage.

Might be a bad car key, pins might need cleaned up, look on YouTube for a better explanation.

I bought these 5 plus charger including charger for £10 Temu over long term the rechargeable going to save you money plus saves landfill and environment.

Rechargeable ones only have a 5th the capacity. Means you’ll be charging every 2ish months if used for a AirTag

Use these occasionally in a Salter digital scale and they certainly don't last that long, as others have said.

Lifetime is poor on these. Bought a few packs previously and my zigbee battery smart devices don’t last long with these. Same devices with Duracell in last so much longer (despite all devices having roughly the same usage).

Shame about the reviews on these. Ikea AA / AAA rechargeable batteries are awesome.
