I have one of these. Amazing things.
You will find yourself buying a box of router bits, however.
The router bits that Ryobi supply aren't great and break easily.

I bought these ones. They sell them elsewhere and seemed to have decent reviews, not just on Amazon

In case anyone wonders what use you have, we had a room we were refurbishing and we wanted to run cables through the insides of the skirting.

Whilst modern skirting has a gap at the bottom for this, it's not great and being able to keep coax, network cables and power separate was light work with this. (edited)

I had one of these for a few years now as well. I don't use it often but when I do it's so quick and easy to use!

Great deal, been looking for one of these for a while and they rarely drop below £100.

They’re even going for £75 refurbished on eBay with no warranty, so £5 extra for a 3 year warranty is a bargain.

I use one with a DeWalt battery adapter. Used it for a few years now, occasional use, fitting doors, trimming laminate and similar.
    Works really well.

How good are these? Needing to buy my first router to add T molding slots to MDF round the edges and already have some 2Mh Ryobi batteries.

I've never used one so I'm a bit clueless on if this is good or a slightly cheaper wired one is best for occasional use :/

You'll be fine - just make sure you have a battery permanently charging.

I don't think this is brushless. Will burnout with some use.

If you not bothered about brand. You can get a brushless motor one on ebay for £45 ish

I have this that I bought a few years ago for around £75. Decent router.

I don't have the Ryobi batteries but I use a BADAPTER which converts it to be able to use Makita batteries which I would recommend.

but but why?, nothing wrong with ryobi batteries plus youre saving 25 quid not buying the badapter

I have the older version of the trim router; which lacks speed control and is very top-heavy. Apparently this version is much better balanced and also has speed control function - tempted to replace at this price!

Anyone got recommendations for decent DIY router bits? Especially for rounded edges (edited)

    I bought these ones.
They came with excellent reviews and worked much better than the supplied ones (which broke)

These type of tools are OK for a quick one off job but it's not going to be comparable with even bottom tier brands.

It's cheap for a reason, it will be low quality, unlikely brushless and low capacity batteries. I got myself a cheap no brand soldering iron with temperature control and a digital display and it doesn't even have the components + wiring to control temperature

For a device that spins bits at 30,000rpm to cut into wood I think I'd rather stick with at least a bottom tier brand

If you have makita batteries the Katsu wireless is an amazing piece of kit. Direct knockoff of the Makita but been around a long time with many positive reviews.
