Used this on a cement mixer base that was covered in surface rust. Been outside all winter and no signs of any rusting on those areas that I painted (after wire brushing).

Good to know as I’ve been using the Aldi metal paint and I’m giving this gear a go even though I knew it was water based, the metal spray paints are very good on the car section  (edited)

Going to try that as there galvanised spray is very good just takes longer to dry over the action can gear, I’ve used aldis metal paint that also very good but needs thinning down with turps, lidl gear is water based

the sprays are on the car section the galvanised spray is very good and can be used as an undercoat for galvanised metal

I use Hammerite Smooth on rust and it works well. If this Parkside paint works as well, then £6.99 is a great price. If it doesn’t, it will be a waste of time, money and effort.

So, it all hinges on quality. Has anyone used it enough to form a definite opinion? (edited)

Water based = rubbish, far better with oil based.

I’d say same but some water based now is very good, it’s worth a try though, I’ve been using the Aldi metal paint that’s solvent but needs thinning down as it’s really thick

Is this paint heat resistant and suitable for radiators or to touch up an enamel bath tub?
    pjlhot's avatar
probably safer with specific radiator paint as it should cope with the metal expanding and contracting
