I assume these are too powerful for charging a standard motorcycle battery?

Bought one last week. There is a setting for slow charging(2A) so no issues for smaller batteries. Great charger at this price to be honest… Bear in mind, this is 12V only charger. There is a smaller 4Amp version which supports 6V as well as 12V if needed. (edited)
