    I have one of these.
If you have a small patch of grass, it's great.

Sadly, we have 4 areas to mow and once it gets above a certain height (first cut of the year etc.), this can't cope. Even with the high-energy 4Ah battery that's £100

I've also got a non-branded 9Ah one and genuinely, neither can really cope. It's just not got enough power to cut. I did, however, take the blade off and grind it to make it really, really sharp.

    It's better.

But unless you have a tiny strip, I'd stick to a cheap electric mower.

I've got a 36V Bosch lawnmower, It does a really good job but I wouldn't want it to be any less powerful. So I'm not surprised an 18V mower would struggle with anything but short grass.

Don't know what people's issue is with this mower, mines fine, fairly large lawn (it goes around the corner too) can get it done on one fully charged 4ah and then use the same battery in the strimmer, what are people doing? Maybe walk faster?

Probably due to your short length of grass, most people only cut the grass a handful of times a year. Nice lawn though.

This came up on my alerts for Mobile Phones. Does it make calls?

Yes but don't put your ear too close to answer it

I love mine. Had two years now. Does my medium size lawn and the front garden verge on one charge easy. I do it on the lowest setting but more often. It’s easier to just grab and get on with it. I don’t avoid cutting the grass now compared to an electric with all the extension lead.

Seen others mentioning when grass slightly wet it struggles, do you find this?

The bit to the right of the Mower has yet to be cut, so not a real test cutting a half inch o grass

I started on the right, maybe time for an eye test?

Alternatively (appreciate its double the price, but if anyone is in the market for what's included) Ryobi are selling a bundle of this mower (new) inc. charger, 5Ah battery and a strimmer for £219.99

Thanks. Any experience with Ryobi products? Would you recommend?

I would suggest not going anywhere near grass without at least a 5ah battery. Anything less just gets bogged down.

I've had this mower for 2 years and it's on its last legs. Our lawn is fairly small and the battery isn't enough to finish it in one charge. Also the power handle has broken on one side despite minimal usage.
I'm afraid it's an example of buy cheap, buy twice.

I’ve had mine 3ish years and the handle has done the same thing. My battery is holding good though, but the handle broke on one side and it’s such a shame with the mower in otherwise good condition.

We purchased last year,it really doesn't like my back garden as its on a slight slope.
  10. highspire2k's avatar
Have this mower and really like it. Use a 5ah battery and it’ll do both the front and back gardens with plenty of charge left over.

Only issue is the handle has snapped on one side and I’m worried it’s going to fully go soon (mower is around 3ish years old).

    Register the 3 year guarantee?

I have 2x1.5ah and 1x2ah from my Ryobi drill and strimmer, would they be ok to use with this on 3 separate lawn patches of around 100m2 in total? If I had to buy another battery just for this it would kind of defeat the point and make it too expensive.
    Odyssey's avatar
No, you need atleast a 4ah.

I bought one with the cable over 10 years ago 2nd hand in a car boot sale for £20, still works to this day. Had to so some wheel repairs as it was coming off but that's about it

Bought this earlier in the year and returned it as its incredibly flimsy. Couldn't see it lasting very long at all

Is the 36V max power version powerful enough ? I notice lots of other suppliers going 50-60V
