About this deal

Cheaper than normal. Ok, still slightly more expensive than some supermarkets, but you get 12x delivered to your door. Good quality too.

Only 49p per tin for Sainsbury’s, Asda and Tesco’s own brand, so even with max s&s these are more expensive.

If you're happy to make up your own sized portions, and prepare in advance, then you can get 2kg of dried Laila chick peas for £2.50 from Asda.
Also great in a catapult from the kitchen window for scaring the seagulls and rats from the bird food

Thought with the catapult comment you were going to say 'local scumbags'
Anyway, thanks op. We eat a lot of chickpeas but strangely has been difficult to source past couple of months from our local two Lidls and Morrisons.

Bare in mind there is a very high chance these will also be short BBE dated. Amazon really should show their BBE dates on the product page of the offer so that people can be better informed.

Doesn't matter they're tinned and good for a few years.

49p a tin in Asda even cheaper if you buy the essentials range. Sorry but it's cold from me even though I'm usually a sucker for a subscribe and save deal!

Grateful for this post, OP! Handy for those of us not nearby a grocers and students too. Taking advantage of this, thank you

Can't be many people not living near a grocery store.
Where on earth do they go for milk, fruit & veg, bread, butter etc...
Ah students, they live off chick peas now? I always thought it was pot noodles. (edited)

They are very good quality and are free of any preservative or salt. Most of these in supermarket are with added salt or brine solution. The salt free ones are very expensive usually. Any Asian brand cans are in brine solution

I really didn’t think posting a deal about chickpeas which preemptively acknowledged supermarkets are cheaper would be so divisive. In case there was confusion, everyone was still free to choose if it was right for them or not 🥸 I have no authority in this situation 🤡

Maybe because the deal is more about the convenience of Amazon with free delivery etc.. rather than price. It's clearly not the best value option for buying chick peas.

I buy the 2 kilo dry bags soak chick peas over night no cooking for falafels and things and if making hummus boil for 10 minutes then leave them in the hot water for an hour and drain simply and costs 10p max.
