Tried these in Spain at Christmas. They do take your breath away on the first try but are yummy

It depends on the flavour. My son likes these. We've got some recently called 'volcano', I think, and he didn't like them. Turned out they were not spicy at all. And we had some I could not eat.

As my 7 year old son who can eat these as if they are normal crisps stated, impressively, these are not actually that spicy but sour, it gives the impression / feeling of spice rather than the burn of capsaicin.

I think they are great, going to see if my Iceland have them tomorrow if I remember, thanks op

I checked at my local Iceland, and I was told they don't sell Takis... (edited)

I picked up the Volcano and Dragon Sweet Chilli Takis from Aldi - probably my most expensive single-bag crisp purchases ever at £3.49 for 180g each. The reason they were so expensive was that they're imported from Spain (hilariously from a company called "Bimbo Donuts"!).

The Volcano variety (also had a thermometer indicating "hot") were anything but - quite a mild spice that I think anyone could tolerate even after eating several of them. In fact, the cheese flavour dominated far more than the spice did, but I'm not a big fan of cheese crisps, so that wasn't a plus for me really. Overall, a big let down and almost false advertising about the spice level.

Sweet chilli flavour is usually "chilli for wimps", so I tend to avoid it, but the Dragon Sweet Chilli variety actually had a kick to it to my surprise (and no cheese, so that's another improvement). I'd still argue it's not at the "hot" thermometer level they also had on the pack, but definitely a step up from the disappointing Volcano variety. If you had to pick just one from Aldi because of the insane price, go for Dragon Sweet Chilli.

As for the Fuego variety, I think I was given a pack a while back and they are actually what I would term hot, unlike the Aldi flavours. Hot enough that it might put people off who can't handle spicy stuff.

My son loves Takis. He was 5 when we discovered this brand. I can barely touch these, but he finds them not as spicy...well, he likes chicken wings with tobacco as well . Hot!
Edit - Tabasco, of course . (edited)

    Is this deal nationwide?

Nationwide don’t offer these sort of deals. They tend to stick to financial offers. Mortgages, savings etc.

In terms of crisps, there is a before and after Takis Fuego. Nothing has ever been the same.

I stopped at Iceland yesterday. Could not find any. I showed the deal to a member of staff. He was familiar with the brand but said that Iceland does not sell this brand. He mentioned that perhaps the Warehouse may do...
