The film was only part of the story, it didn't really make complete sense (generally speaking) without reading the manga, even with that in mind it was still an amazing film & arguably it was too good because not much else ever lived up to it back in the day.

There are pliantly of anime that are easily accessible, you just need to find the right ones.
thanks, love a bit of Gundam. Japans such a cool country.
Any recommendations for a seven deadly sins fan?
Nice. I'll be having a look.

It's a shame they're all dub. I much prefer subtitles and the original character voices. Having said that, when I first watched Bebop I preferred the dub.

I'm going to give Gundam a go. Such a massive show, that somehow never made my DVD collection.

Heat added.

Thanks op. I don't watch Channel 4, so I'd have missed this.

Can't get my head around reading from the back of a book to the front! The Japanese might be clever and inventive, but messed up! Why read from the back cover to the front cover? I might give Akira another chance at some point in time given that even Sky is rubbish these days so I don't watch too much TV.

I watched the life out of all of the manga that was on CH4 back in the 90's on a Saturday night. Fist of the North Star, Vampire Hunter D, Legend of the Four Kings (which had the crappiest ending ever), and the absolutely amazing Cyber City OEDO 808 (that soundtrack ).
Awesome memories.

Probably wasn't too bad for me because I can read Arabic, is it a huge struggle?

Yeah i remember setting up my vhs to record these. I never got to find out how it ended as my vhs would randomly not record sometimes. I did find every episode to be pretty much the same as the last if i remember right.
I love Durarara!! Great series. ^_^

The Japanese written language is (partially) derived from Chinese and they read in columns starting from the right.

I didn't realise they were all dubbed, apart from the Ghibli's, I cannot stomach dubs with American voices, so irritating & it completely changes the feel of a show/film.
Says persona 5 there....that ain't been dubbed

Lots of ads throughout sadly (obviously)

Awesome. Thanks for this!
This is great, and I hope it's something that takes off on All 4! I had noticed it a few weeks back but nice to spread the word.

I cannot recommend Cowboy Bepop highly enough! I watched the series a couple of years ago and despite hearing good reviews I wasn't expecting much - I couldn't believe how good it was, it's one of those shows that you never want to end!
Persona 5 - The Animated Series is very good, recommended if you've played the PS4 game.

Alot of anime have the odd bits of pervy stuff.
Not sure if on the list of animes but Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood is arguably one of the best animes ever made.

Streaming Anime legally without a fee is a rare pleasure! Many thanks OP!
Just bought Jin Roh collector's blu ray. The completely serious end of anime. I think they remade that as live action recently too. Need to buy Royal Space Force soon too as I read it was a limited run.

So true about the memories.
Add to that Crying Freeman, Wicked City, Ninja Scroll...
to be honest I'm quite glad modern animes' become more light hearted

Cyber city is in my top 3 with ninja scroll and shadowskill. Back then anime was Hentai porn. These kids will never know real Manga.
If it wasnt channel 4 it was Sci Fi channel
