This would make a great bike for a front hub ebike motor conversion for another 400

Looks good. Whether this would be a good buy depends on where you ride. If you live in a flattish city like Cardiff, or ride along the Embankment in London, it'd be great. If you live in Sheffield or somewhere similalrly hilly, it would be a bit limiting. When I commuted from Central London to Wimbledon Common, along the Kings Road, I used two gears. This would have been perfect for that.

I have a vitus vee single gear! It's a dream, all you have to worry about is riding. I live in a flat city and mostly ride with my kids so is a non-issue, but I've had a few bikes now with no gears (having not even realised they existed) and I love them.

    3 gears?

Takes me back to the good old Raleigh Chopper/Grifter days...

    [drifts into rose-tinted memories]

I got this bike a few weeks ago for my commute into work.

Looks and feels great to ride.

Looks good and good price. Three gears might be limiting but low maintenance and probably enough for most unless hilly. But I've no idea, never rode this bike. (edited)

Looking for a first bike - 5ft 7inch just to ride around on roads but the reviews don't give me confidence concerning the rear wheel on this bike:

"Adjusting the rear wheel is difficult, it pulls over a lot and then rubs on the rear forks" and " rear wheel pulls out of line..."

The only times wheels pull over is if they haven't been fitted right and not tightened enough by the nut or quick release lever.

In extreme cases the frame may be out of alignment and then they will always rub. But this is not a common event. (edited)

    Great bike for commuting, etc.
Fantastic reviews at RRP (£429.99), an absolute bargain at under £300.
If I didn't already own a hub gear city bike I'd be all over this.

I read that review as well. My immediate thought was that it was written by somone who didn't know how to put a wheel on a bicycle.

Don't think that kit has the right sensors for hydraulic breaks but good idea in general. Yose4lyf

Not the worst I have seen, biut not the best either. Gumtree will have something better, always get challenged on this gumtree.com/p/b…116 is one in my area. Gumtree is not a shop so it wont have what you want right at this moment in time but keep looking.

I'd personally do a mid-drive motor conversion and make use of those three gears!

Don't like the sound of a hi-tensile steel fork though. Sounds rough
