sorted byCertainly don't go trying to spend £30 just to get the cheap short dated chocolate.
These deals save you a good % on a small item but to meet the minimum spend you have to search high and low to find other goods which you NEED, to meet the minimum spend requirement. Of course this is how your business model works but push the balance to fill too far and your customers lose interest.
When creating these loss leader deals, why not have a £20 minimum spend with paid delivery and a £30 minimum spend with free delivery? That way, if someone wants free delivery you’re rewarded with their extra spend to contribute towards the delivery cost and if they’re willing to pay the delivery cost, they’ve a lower minimum spend requirement, ensuring your profit isn’t squeezed.
I think you’ll find such a compromise ensures you attract and don’t lose existing customers.
