Where mountains meet the beach
At Pine Valley Hotel, you get to experience the fresh mountain air and spectacular natural surroundings of Hisaronu, a town perched on a plateau above the coast, while also being within easy reach of Oludeniz, home to one of Turkey’s finest beaches.
As well as a gorgeous sandy beach, around a 10-minute bus or taxi ride from the hotel, Oludeniz is renowned for its Blue Lagoon, separated from the main beach by a sandbar – another idyllic place to swim and sunbathe. There’s no shortage of things to do at the hotel, too, with two outdoor pools, several water slides and pool-based games to keep you occupied, and a spa (featuring a Turkish hammam) for all your relaxation needs. Young ones, meanwhile, are catered for by a comprehensive activity programme at the kids club.
Quench your thirst at the poolside or garden bar, and see what takes your fancy between the buffet and à la carte dining options – or head into town and take your pick between the array of bars and restaurants. Come nightfall, Hisaronu really bursts into life and the sound of music fills the air, so if you’re in the mood to party, it’s a great place to be – but you can easily steer clear of the livelier spots and enjoy a more low key evening if that’s your vibe
Find out more about Hisaronu
Staying on a mountain by the beach might sound almost too romantic, but that’s exactly what Hisaronu holidays offer. Hisaronu lies just 4 kilometres uphill from popular Olu Deniz’s beach-front lagoon, en route to the vibrant harbour city of Fethiye.
It offers an alternative base for visitors among the forested foothills of Babadag Mountain, well known as a paragliding launch pad. Even at the height of summer, the higher altitude provides refreshing coolness at night, when holidaymakers wander the main street’s restaurants and bars.
It’s a busy place geared towards international tourists, but there’s even more to do on holidays to Hisaronu just a short bus ride away in both Olu Deniz and Fethiye. Just outside the resorts themselves, there are lots of adventures to be had in the beautiful natural scenery – this is, after all, the chunk of Mediterranean holiday heaven known as the Teke peninsula, where mountains plunge into blue bays and Lycian ruins peek from the undergrowth.
