    Buy some kefir grains on ebay..

    Drop them in some milk.. leave milk out of fridge for 2 or 3 days... and you're off!

    Put in fridge to slow growth down. Take out to speed growth up. Top up with milk as you use it. Use a 4 pinter carton so you can use, top up, use, top up..

    Voila! Kefir forever.

    And not just one or two bacteria strains.. 30 or so... (edited)
