Looks like a rebadged CEM912 version that also sold by RS (RS Components, not Richer Sounds) in UK sell for about £32 plus VAT. I've got a couple of these and they're much better than any other meter for under £20 let alone £10.44. Heat from me and a nice compact reliable and safe meter for home DIYers.

if it's the same as mine it uses a weird little battery, not one of the main standard types, not good if it fails while you are out and about without a spare.

Can you test AC with this 240v?

Depends what you are checking for.

Are you mesuring the voltage ? In this yes. it will measure AC voltage.

Or are you checking if the system is live/dead and safe to work on ? In this case how do you know if the device is faulty or has not been set up correctly at the point of testing ? (edited)

Amazon review - Spot the mistake

(This is not the fault of the meter)

"I'm quite clever, not a thicky, so I read the instructions well, tried it out on voltage OK got a reading as expected, so I checked out how to find a parasitic draw, first disconnect the negative car battery cable, Then on the multimeter plug the black wire into com, the red wire into the 10 amp socket, turn the switch to 10 amp DC, and then connect one probe to battery terminal the other to the battery earthing connecter, and you will get a reading, not a chance. So have I somehow damaged the unit, cant see why "

Anbody know what went wrong here ? (edited)
