    This is Apple trying to convince us of a new standard number that no-one else will ever use!

    Pro models should be starting at 32Gb/1Tb really these days.

    Apple with its new system on a chip setup with only 8GB of ram or some other crazy low number is the new built in obsolescence and a way around the new EU right to fix rules.

    Scandalous and hope the EU fines them for it.

    My home theatre pc has more memory AND storage than this thing and it's running a 9 year old CPU and an 8 year old GPU (i5 6500 + 1050ti).

    16gb of memory is the new minimum for a good experience and a 1tb SSD should be the standard for anything that isn't budget conscious. As a consumer both of these things cost us around 100-120 combined, so why does a £2000 laptop not have it? There is no legitimate reason for it.

    I'd spend double this on the latest and greatest MBP M3 Max if I knew that when the SSD (a wear component) dies - you do not end up owning a very expensive brick.

    Love a good mac deal... signal to noise ratio is so low and so many silly comments.... don't think we've had the 'M1 just needs less ram comment yet' or 'its magical' or 'pro no better than air' (oh yeah had thay one... *sigh*).... come on ppl... crank up the stupid!

    Best laptop i've ever had but coming from an M1 Pro be wary that it's a lot thicker and the battery life is a fair bit worse.

    Agree. Battery life the reason I'm still sticking with my M1 MacBook. RAM is my bottle neck, I'm happy with the processing power of M1. Pro chips are like trading battery life for some extra performance. (edited)

    Here for the 'I know better than you though I have never used one' 8GB crew - see they are already out in force but oddly on a machine that doesnt have 8GB.

    My only actual meaning full advise is this is Pro by name only it is not an improved chip over the air M3 so unless the screen and io appeals to you get the air OR pay for the 'pro' chip version to get more out of it...

    The chip inside this is the M3 Pro. This is not the standard M3 model which is why it has 18GB ram too you’re comments just incorrect

    Edit: Also space black only comes on M3 Pro and Max chips not the standard M3 (edited)
