About this deal
Was in the market for a base unit MacBook Air M3, checking out on Amazon, if you upgrade to 512GB SSD you get an 8% discount on the Midnight, Silver or Space Grey, but not the Gold, reducing the price down to £1199.97. Base memory remains at 8GB.
If in the market for a base unit, seems like a good deal, an extra 256GB SSD for £100 and a £100 discount from what would have been the normal price. Especially since is the 2024 M3 edition, which has only just been released.
Picked up one in Midnight and have Amazons excellent return policy should it be not what I expected to be

sorted byCompare that to the Lenovo L380 i got recently i upgraded the ram in that myself from 8gb to 16gb for the princely sum of £6.
to your point though I bought a 16gb MBP exactly 10 years ago though (that was an upgrade from the base offer of 8GB then), can’t believe it’s still their base offer!
So no real need for me more of just a want.
I'd save it if I were you. I scratched the itch by picking up a pristine M1 ipad pro 12.9 with Pencil for £520 on eBay instead!
I paid around £800 for my MacBook Air M1 brand new with 4 year edu warranty 4 years ago now and there's not a massive difference from this... Crazy
