I’ve been eyeing these up but apparently the screen itself is garbage. Its low res, dim at 250 nits, bad colours and low response at 9ms which makes it terrible for well, everything? It’s a huge shame because the other specs are decent and I like the design. Please correct me if I’m wrong or if you own this model would be good to hear what others think but sounds like a letdown really.

if the screen is a big deal for you then avoid this model as the screen is as terrible as you think.

There are usually a few different 'flavours' of laptops and these very poor screen versions are really for use at home with monitor/tv as a desktop replacement.

If you want a better screen then with most brands it is usually about a hundred more (but is often not on deal at the same time), and if you were paying attention the lenovo loq with a 1440p and better cpu was only £60 more than this on deal last month.

Ya, as has said, these were £650 at costco BC. Everyone went nuts for em. Me included, I got one

Same. That was when I had one. Bargain at £650 but not been seen again so this is a good price still imo. It’s easily an £800 system with that GPU and spec.

Little cheaper at Costco previously but this is still arguably a good price for an RTX 4060. I know some people don't like the Victus but personally I think it's one of the better looking value-series laptops.

I got mine just for streaming stuff to quest headset. Smashes everything I throw at it. Two 'gripes' now I want another laptop! It's not right browsing ebay on this. It needs to roam the prairies. And 2nd gripe, took me 30 seconds to fill the hard drive with a teensy fraction of the steam (vr) games I got (though that is more a reflection of me than the machine though!)

agree with 2nd gripe. My 2 lads have a victus from a year or so back and a 5 yr old Pavilion gaming (pre victus naming). Basically the same budget line from HP over the years but the biggest difference was that the Victus didn't have the space/connection for an older hdd/SSD as well as the nvme slot like the Pavilion had, so the eldest is still hanging on to a 5 yr old laptop because nothing comes close at a good price point. So while the these deals come along it will take something special for him to move from the Pavilion as its still capable (i5 10th gen/16Gb ram/RTX2060 with 512 nvme and 2Tb ssd).
