When I was there 3 years ago, there wasn't a lot of saving once you put on sales tax. Not sure what it's like now.
Also keep in mind that you'll have the US keyboard layout and US charger by default (this can be converted of course by buying the UK slot in piece).

Tempting but my M1 is still going strong. Maybe I'll upgrade next year with the M4 and hopefully the 16GB/512GB will be the base model by then and it'll be a tad cheaper (wishful thinking).
