Wouldn't you have to pay import fees, taxes and or VAT on top of this?

Goods worth more than £135 in totalYou will have to pay VAT to the delivery company either before the goods are delivered or when you collect them.

Customs DutyYou’ll be charged Customs Duty on all goods sent from outside the UK (or the UK and the EU if you’re in Northern Ireland) if they’re either:

    • excise goods
    • worth more than £135
If you’re charged Customs Duty, you’ll need to pay it on both:

    • the price paid for the goods
    • postage, packaging and insurance

It's more like £175 after tax

However, even at £175, it still seems a good price? (edited)

Don't forget £30 VAT + couriers fee for collecting (typically £10-15 or 2.5% whichever is higher) there is no duty on HS code 84713090 which is what this will typically be imported under.

If your hoping it gets through without any VAT or handling fee, that's just called gambling and you don't the odds, let me tell you, they're slim, if the seller falsifies the paper work, they risk losing the item, and your business as you'll no doubt want your money back!

I bought this last sale at a similar price, got a £37 Royal Mail customs/handling charge.

All cutesliving purchases state purchase price, so if over 130, you will get stung

Previous version of Y700? I thought this was the only version. I’d heard about the Lenovo Legion Tab in the UK and thought this and that were the same thing? Please could anyone clarify?

Voted hot by the way. This was £200 or so a week or two ago.

Ah, I’m seeing there’s an SD 870 version and Gen1+ model. Think I need to do more research.

Was after something like this but wanted AMOLED display. (edited)

I bought this from this same shop! It appears to be genuine and I did get hit by customs though.
The global rom it came with only went up to android 11 so be sure to find another if you want 13 or 14.
    TechFiend's avatar
How much did you pay in total all told?

I'm getting £160 (£175 before £15 discount). Where is the £150 coming from please? Thanks!

Sorry, pay with USD and a fee free card, that came to 148 something

Would be great if they didn't declare true value on customs.

This is the older version, as opposed to the latest 2023 improved version.

Also, avoid global firmware from those sellers, as it's something unofficial installed by them as opposed to the manufacturer. Who knows what else was installed, and it won't receive updates either.

If you are going to buy a Lenovo y700 from Aliexpress, chose a Chinese (CN) ROM, so that the box comes sealed. The CN ROM supports the English language but not the Google Play store out of the box (needs to be installed separately).

On the 2023 version, there is now an official global ROM that can be installed using the official Lenovo support tool (from a PC), and that will make the tablet identical in terms of hardware and software to the Lenovo Legion tablet sold in the UK by Lenovo... for £500 (a ridiculous price).

The official global ROM supports many languages, will get updates and has full Google support (including Google Play store). (edited)

Can you post a link to that 2023 rom method?

I've got both the 2023 and the earlier model they're both stonkingly good tablets, it's ridiculous that there simply isn't a decent 8" tablet for gaming in the local market.

The 2023 has a horrible taskbar you can't get rid of unless you change to gesture navigation which was quite annoying not sure if it's Google's fault or lenovos. I actually prefer this older one and it's pretty close performance wise in most things.
