I am having a terrible time with Dell right now, I bought the recent exclusive offer on Dell 32 USB-C Gaming Monitor - G3223D.

It arrived on the 30th May and was plugged in that evening, it's a desktop so it doesn't move about. Everything worked fine until the 15th June when the screen began to flicker and anything onscreen was unrecognisable, just a series of vertical thin stripes.

I opened a technical support query and on the 16th I was asked to send a photograph of the full screen, within ten minutes I received a reply stating :

"After checking photos, it shows you that the Monitor is broken, however physical damage is not covered by the warranty.
Unfortunately, we do not offer quotes for repairing monitors, therefore this case will be closed."

That's it so far, another attempt at reaching support has gone unanswered (and in fact despite having a reference number the link leads to a blank page claiming no request can be found) so it does appear to be closed.

I am quite rightly furious with Dell, the credit card are unable to start a chargeback as they claim Dell will stick to their assessment of physical damage. The monitor does not have single mark anywhere.

My next option is small claims court as almost £300 for just over two weeks use is ridiculous.

I am sure 99% of monitors are fine but the dismissive attitude has made me swear to never purchase another product from the company.

Great price. They've also reduced the S2721DS to £195, so that's £185.26 delivered. I've a pair of those and they're lovely (Difference is built in speakers and pivot stand).

Dell won't repair or replace damaged panels, even if you want to pay for a repair out of warranty. Like Apple their environmental credentials are pie in the sky.

I had enough trouble getting an in warranty monitor replaced. Sent me 4 broken or wrong spec monitors before they decided to just refund me.

Worked out in the end cos I got full refund however I really needed the monitor replacing.
