Lights are a lot more useful higher up than sitting on the floor. Have a look at adding a clamp

I can't think of any application where I'd need a floor light that was sited away from a source of power? so I'll stick with my adapted LED security lights for 2/3rds of the cost (edited)

This does seem to be a bit of a mismatch, batteries wise. These battery packs are optimised for delivery of extremely high currents (eg 900W tools) yet this lamp only needs around 20W, tops. A much less expensive battery would deliver that. A bit like doing the school run in a Ferrari. It's still going to flatten that expensive battery in a few hours. So you would presumably have to have a dedicated battery pack for the light, on jobs where one's needed.

So, for around thirty quid you can get a worklight with built in rechargeable battery. That battery certainly wouldn't deliver anything like 900W, but then, it doesn't need to.

I suppose if you are all geared up to using the X-Change battery system and already have a handful of these packs, it makes sense to use them when you can. In which case this could easily be a hot deal. So I voted hot.

The main convenience I find with these is that the battery is hot-swappable. All the ones with built in batteries I have seen are built in (or are some 18650s behind a screwed down battery door).
Being able to quickly put a new battery in is very useful.
