Neil Pryde full Ultegra with power meters online near me. <7Kg for less money

Weight is pretty irrelevant once at 10kg or under, unless you race, the time saved is miniscule.

Any of thoughts on this bike vs the Specialized Allez E5 Elite Road Bike 2022 (this) please?

The Spesh (if you are happy with rim brakes), it will be lighter and is 22 speed rather than 20.

My first road bike was a basic allez, the frame and forks were excellent, back then it was a racy bike, rather than an endurance bike. Not so sure if the Allez is still as racy or a bit more subtle. Worth baring in mind.

My issue with the Giant is it would be costly to move to 22 speed if you wanted to in the future, and I am guessing the base disc wheels will be hefty. The Spesh is current (other than lack of discs) and you could get some nice wheels for a low price should you wish to spice it up a bit.

I prefer the Giant personally. Hydraulic disc brakes all day long.

Meh disc brakes are so much more maintenance and issues... rotor rub is so common and when you take wheels off it's a pita if you accidently close the rotors. Also you tend to get far less for your money, equivalent rim brake bikes can have shimano 105 GS which is amazing and so reliable.

I ride a 105 rim brake, very low maintenance and easy to adjust, put on swiss stop pads and it stops basically the same as disc.

Both look good, I got this recently and it flies

It will definitely fly especially downhill with no disc brake

Could you put gravel tyres on this to make a decent gravel bike?
    jcmaton97's avatar
Yeah it's an endurance bike so you could get away with that.

Great deal, I have two bikes, one with Shimano 105 & the other with Tiagra, I've got to admit there isn't much between them, as the new Tiagra is a great groupset

I love my Tiagra hybrid, It's 2 years old, the shifting is amazing. Quality modern components are so good.
