Just picked up a Nexus 7 32GB at Currys/PCWorld near Moorgate station. Asked them if they'll price-match CPW and they said yes - but limited to one per customer (you can go back if they're still in stock!)

Regular in-store price is £199 but if you buy a case then you get £20 cashback by registering a week or something later - I don't know if they'll still give you this if you get them to price match but someone else can try it. :-)

Will post scan of receipt in a bit.

According to the cashback terms and conditions, you WILL get cashback on this deal, as long as the receipt shows you bought both a Nexus 7 and a case together! (thanks squillion):

pcworld.co.uk/gbu…tml

Some stores will let you stack the discount on cases too!

When I asked about the cashback they said you just have to register online within an amount of time, so I couldn't see how they could stop you from doing so if you had a valid receipt. Maybe they give you a code or something - I don't need a case so I didn't buy one just to find out. It's still £177 though, and plenty in stock from what I could see (another guy wanted two but walked off in a huff when they said he could only have one).

Don't defend your deal mate, this variation hasn't been posted before, it is a good deal.

Maybe if fowler002 posted a deal to contribute to the site instead of putting other deals down, just a suggestion......

Well I went for the Samsung 10.1 Tab 2, from PC World, walked in, and got into an argument with the store manager at Stevenage, who said its one or other of offers, but thats not according to T&C's, so they priced matched it, to tesco, and I got it for £233. I got home and rang up PC World Custier services in Sheffield, and told them what had happened, and that manager had stopped me from buying a case with it. They confirmed that the price promise and the samsung cash back offer ( £80...ie £50 of this is from Samsung & £30 from PC W. for buying with case)are two separate offers. So they will refund the price of a case for me....So I went back and chose the most expensive one they had ! at £34.99 for a Belkin leather jobby. On top of this I can now claim the £80 back as well. Thus total outlay of approx £268. But after case refund circa £35 & £80 cashback, should end up at £ 153 ! for a brand sparkly tab with shiny case.

In short the store manager's talk ****, and don't know their own t&c's and try and pull a fast one by sounding authoratative. Talk to customer services, and if not happy, complain like the world is going to end....... kerching ! Good luck. And yes before any smart **** says it, it was a bit of hassle, but the best part of the deal was walking back into the store to pick up my free case....the loo on the manager's face...priceless !
His name was Rodney.........and yes he is a plonker

I was on here yesterday when I saw a deal for a 32gb Nexus for £179 from Carphone Warehouse, after reading through the thread I tried reserving online to collect in one of my local stores but none had stock so I read about someone had managed to get PC World to price match and other mentioning Comets had stock etc . So after trying to call a few stores in between work calls & an IT guy working on my laptop I finally managed to reserve one and said I'd collect it around 2pm when I was on my lunch.

I jumped in the car and drove over to the retail park and once I'd got out the car I looked about but couldn't find the Carphone Warehouse, but there was a Comet and a PC World. I walked into Comet first as it was closer and told one of the sales assistants I'd reserved a Nexus, he told me they didn't have any stock and I said I'd spoke with David on the phone and the lad told me there wasn't a David working that day so I made my apologies and left.

Now I headed into the PC World thinking that I'd got cofused after so many phone calls and it was PC World not Comet or Carphone Warehouse I'd managed to reserve one with.....I waited in line and got served and told the Sales Assistant the same speal that I'd reserved one on the earlier that day after speaking with David on the phone. The guy started looking through the Cupboards behind the tills with the 'Click & Collect' labels and he couldn't find one reserved under my name.

He asked again when I'd reserved it and who I spoke with so I told him again that it was David & earlier that day, he said there wasn't one there for me and by this time I was starting to get **** off but he said I'll check the stock and came back and said there was a couple showing and he'd go through the back and get one for me.

After waiting 5 minutes the guy came back with one and all was good again. While he was putting it through the till I had a look at the Nexus and it looked as if it had been opened so I took it out and sure enough it was out of the wrapper, when I said to the sales guy he said they were all like that..... I said that was nonsense but he insisted so I asked him to get one of the reserved ones out of the 'Click & Collect' cupboard behind him so I could double check and he said no while starting to go a little red. I ended up saying to him if you don't let me see one I'll not bother buying it and so he relented and gave me one out of the cupboard and of course it the unit was all wrapped up in the cellophane so I told him I'll have this one and not the one that'd been opened already while calling him a lying little ****.

Now we finally were getting somewhere and my stress levels were going down....well that was until the sales guy scanned the Nexus and said 'That's £199 please' :curse:

I told him the price I'd reserved it at was £179 not £199 but the sales guy wasn't interested and told me David must have been confused so I asked him to go get David but he said he was on his lunch and wouldn't be back for an some time..by this time I was ready to go radge and I ended up telling to stick the Nexus up his **** and go phuck himself for being such an unhelpful little ****.

By this time I've been out of the office for 40 minutes and I've still had a 10 minute drive to get back and I was later for a meeting so I was rushing to get into the car and just as I was getting into the car I noticed across the carpark there was a small CarPhone Warehouse shop that I'd never seen before.......so I drove over and ran in and sure enough there was a 32gb Nexus that had been reserved for me

Had a relative try a PC World store in Leeds and they said they would … Had a relative try a PC World store in Leeds and they said they would definitely price match CPW when they were back in stock. He then tried the Crown Point Currys/PcWorld store in Leeds as they were in stock and the assistant (after asking a 'manager') flat out refused to price match CPW and instead tried to claim that the cashback offer was just as good and would bring the price down to £179.99. Anyone with basic maths skills would know that £20 cash back would bring it down to £195 IF AND ONLY IF they had a £15 case. If not you'd probably end up spending more than £199.99. Not to mention you don't get the 10% off the difference of the price match either. The relative enlightened them about this and they were adamant that they could not do it even after being told that another PC World had already agreed to price match. The assistant claimed that they didn't and wouldn't check, so to save wasting his breath, my relative left the store.I'm going to ring the store later today and try and set them straight. Emphasis on try.

Had a similar situation in PCWorld today. The manager tried to convince me that with the case cashback for a case (which I do not even need) their price is exactly the same as CPW and therefore they will not do a price match. And if I do not need a case - it is my problem.

I had to go through the T&C with him (I had a printed version with me just in case) and he gave up - £22 off the Nexus 7 price.

After that I got in a mood and asked to include a £0.99 LOGIC case for a hard-drive as I want to exercise their cashback policy as well. The manager was not happy and said that only certain cases needs to be purchased in order to qualify for the cashback. However, after I showed him this particular case in the list of qualifying cases (the link is in this thread somewhere) he had to give up again. Not sure if PCW will honour the claim, but worth trying..

All this was not easy, but I wanted to proof my point.

Well I finally bit the bullet and bought myself one of these tablets from Currys yesterday (Canterbury branch) they price matched CPW and did the 10% difference so got one for £177 + I bought the matching Nexus are for £14.99, so total of £191.99 - £20 cash back offer. So pretty chuffed it will net down to £171.99 eventually.
Only thing is I won't be opening it until Christmas Day as I've bought it as a present for myself and a few other people are chipping in to help pay for it, just got to be patient, this way I've got something to look forward to opening on Christmas :-)
Thanks again to the OP as I wouldn't of been able to get this deal if it wasn't posted.

Lots of cases have discounts when bought with a tablet, and if you buy a Nexus 7 together with a case then it's eligible for £20 cashback when you register in 30 days. I didn't need a case so I didn't try this but glad to hear it's all stackable! X)

Been into London today and checked cow stock in Liverpool street. confirmed they had 3 so went to pcw round the corner to pricematch my click and collect (for quidco). Did that OK but manager said I wouldn't get cb too. bought a cheap garmin case anyway as its worth the £3 risk. Paid just less than £180. Phoned customer services and the guy had clearly had many queries today as he came out with a quick, clear and confident answer - any case qualifies, and I will get the cash back even on price match. so, with quidco, hoping for about £155 after cash back! result! have since returned the one I bought from PCs at the weekend!

Yeah, they are a serious pain in the ****.

Just got back now. It seemed like they were ready to refuse the price match but I told them that I rang the sales team earlier and asked and was told by them that there was no reason for them to refuse to do it. I also had webpages loaded on my phone to show them that others have had this done without issue. The assistant then said he couldn't offer the cash back so I challenged him on that with some more proof. He relented and went to see his manager, came back, said he'd do it. He went to check CPW's stock (who I might add are situated next door but one) and came back and asked which case I'd want. I went for the official case as I'd have probably bought that anyway which was £24.99 but I didn't mind so much after the price match with 10% extra off and the cash back.

Got to the till, he said "we're going to give you this as well" (in an apologetic tone - I was waiting for some time) referring to the Norton tablet security software (which he never mentioned before, nor was it mentioned anywhere on or around the product or price tag - which only displayed info about the cashback). I asked him as he placed it in the bag "and this is definitely at no extra cost?" he nodded and said that it wasn't. Came to about £201, which sounded right after the £25 case. When I got home and checked the receipt, the case showed up individually as £14.99 and he had in fact charged me £10 for the Norton tablet security software, which I never wanted nor needed, just thought it was free as he said it was no extra cost. I should have checked the receipt in store but was in a pretty foul mood and it seemed to add up if the case was £25. It didn't appear as if it was part of a deal, as I said, there was no mention of it by him or on or around the product and he said it was no extra cost and said he was 'giving' it to me. No doubt they'll claim it was a deal but it was itemised separately on the receipt so in my eyes the case was £14.99 regardless and he mis-sold me (or rather tricked me) the Norton rubbish. I'm going to have go in yet again to sort things out. Grr.

This is the same price I paid in total (£201.99)....£14.99 is the official price in store for the case when bought with the Nexus. They had small stand-up signs saying so by the Nexus.
Also, £10 for the Norton Tablet Security isn't that bad, considering it's normally £30.
But regardless of this...he should have told you!!

However, the Manager who had to come out for the price-matching, also did it so that the Nexus was on 1 receipt and the case on another. This may obviously affect the cash-back claim...however, the receipt for the case, does indeed state that it was purchased with a Nexus (otherwise it' wouldn't have been £14.99), so I'm hoping to get round it that way.
Having looked at the T&C's it does that that it has to be on 1 receipt.
5.Subject to these terms and conditions, Customers may claim their cashback reward after purchasing a qualifying Tablet and qualifying case in a single transaction detailed on a single invoice from Currys / PC World.

So I will be kicking off, should it not work in 25 days time, or so because of the daft timeline on it all, which they're obviously hoping people will forget about.

Yesterday I had a bit of a tennis match with the first Currys I spoke to, I ordered one for collection and they phoned me back fairly quickly to confirm, at which point I asked about price matching. I got bumped to 2 different people fairly quickly, to eventually be told that they had the cashback offer with the case instead, so I said that I wasn't sure if I wanted a case and would prefer just the price match to Carphone Warehouse, They phoned me back a couple of hours later, to say that they had been told that they could do the price match, however both Carphone Warehouses near their store didn't have stock, so I couldn't do it.

Thanks to bigviv's comment above, I found out that the price match should be based on a 30 miles radius from the store, not just in the same town, and there were a few that had stock when I checked today. Got on to Currys customer services who agreed, and left a message for the store to get back to me to sort it out, but they never did.

Went to another Currys on the way home from work, and there was absolutely none of the trying to wriggle out of it, the guy was more than happy to do the price match to £177, I got the asus case for another £15, and then he also asked if I wanted the Norton security for £5, which I did. He said the Norton item would be £10 if I wanted 500gb cloud storage with it, which I declined, so all in all, the nexus7, a case and norton security for £196.99. He even went and grabbed a leaflet detailing how to claim the cashback too without me having to ask, so all in all a very pleasant transaction

If someone can confirm the Nexus + case deal + £20 CB and a price match - then this is a stonker!

I agree that the CB deal is probably there by default and they cant stop this as its clearly something Currys/PCW have agreed up front.

Be really interested if anyone can confirm they'll do it with case deal
Plus will they still price match even though cpw are now out of stock?

Not according to their Ts&Cs, which is fair enough. Their excuses aren't.

Are CPW out of stock in local stores though, I wouldnt have thought so?

It's in stock at 3 of the 5 nearest stores to my office - probably because they don't do reserve and collect around here.

I'm sending a colleague to PCW armed with this info as he wants one too so we'll see. X)

Can't see this happening myself for many..... prob down to discretion of the store manager

    T/C Price promise currys.co.uk/gbu…tml

Clearly says must be a retail store within 30 mile & in stock

So if you can find one in stock within 30 mile at the CFW your lucks in.... only a £3 saving but it's cheaper
