    That's because you're looking at Maple flavour Syrup (i.e. sugar) not Maple Syrup

    I bought a couple of bottles a few days ago at this price. The best before date is end of May.
    I bought a bottle a couple months ago for around £1, very nice, really intense flavour. I use it in porridge, sweet pancakes/deserts and even a few drops in savoury dishes which really enhances the flavour of sauces.
    Did a little research, maple syrup stores indefinitely unopened and upto a year in the fridge once opened. It can store for years once opened if kept in the freezer, it does not freeze solid apparently.
    This product is really good and should not be confused with cheaper maple flavour syrups.

    Can confirm it is really nice. Sell by date is only advisory as this is mostly sugar and is too concentrated to turn into wine/vinegar in a hurry. Mould will grow but it will take a year probably for that to happen after opening.
