Considering that this is a brand-new item and has a 10th gen i7, you can upgrade the ram to 32 gigs and has 2 slots for NVMe storage, I think this could serve you for a long time and the form factor is tiny.

Power bricks probably the same size as the device. Shame its not charged by usbc. Looks like a nice bit of kit though, great under the TV.

Exactly, you get a lot in that size. I love it.

Haha, at that scale the USB port would be big enough to plug a human into. Then you have the choice of either sleeping on top or plugging yourself in to recharge at bed time.

Always wondered if you can dual boot them windows/android? See I'd like something like this under my tv to play occasionally some KSP1 but also keep my android based TV...
    Odo93's avatar
I heard windows 11 has an android subsystem you can run android apps natively.

This looks like a nice little machine for the money. Are we sure the RAM and storage is upgradable? If so, it will last a long time. I have an old Lenovo Tiny still going strong. I use it as a headless thingy (just for the sake of it really).

Edit: Yes, definaltely upgradable but looks like only 1 M.2 connector on the ones that I've seen with the lid off. (edited)

Looks decent for the spec, I love a good compact PC, I paid similar money a year ago for an i5 for my work PC, Not sure about the carpet on the top of this one though?

I have the older HP EliteDesk 800 G4 Mini with the 35w i5. Complete powerhouse for its size and the £100 I paid for it. Using it as a home server, mostly gets used for Jellyfin media transcoding. Rock solid performance! (edited)

Is this supposed to be competing with a Mac mini? If so then I dont see the pull considering Mac minis are only slightly more in price, will perform better, and hold their value better.

But if your limited to windows then I get it.

I'm not 'limited' to windows. I was a Mac user for a very long time and switched to windows about 6 years ago. I actually bought a Mac mini last month with a view to switching back and have been disappointed at how little progress Mac OS has made. It still has a 'toytown' look and feel, finder is still a mess, etc etc. Anyway, the Mac's going back and this is replacing it. As to the long term value, I buy a computer to use it, not as an investment.

I have an older version of this with twin DP out and hooked up to a dual monitor setup I need for work. Works very well. Shame this only has one DP out, although I suppose you could do a dual monitor setup with the HDMI out for the second monitor?

New, but 10th gen. Not trying to disparage the device, but is it only me that thinks someone found some old stock at the back of the warehouse?

Not sure you can use the 2 nVME slots, isn't one not soldered in ?
    wrongmark's avatar
One the ones I've seen with the lid off online, there looks to be only one slot with an actual connector. The other space for the slot hasn't got the connector on the board.

hotukdeals.com/sha…871 how can compare with apple one, and its good for accounting work, thank you
    wrongmark's avatar
I would say easily good enough for accounting work. Apples and Oranges really. Cheaper, less pretty, upgradable and with windows basically. (edited)

Agree with the comment below, apart from the 16RAM, the i7 old 10th gen is not even as good as the i5th then gen leave alone the 12th gen, and the integrated graphics are substantially weaker than than the new integrated graphocs
