Been looking to get an oled tv for under £1000 with a decent warranty and this is my biting point.

Cant go wrong in terms of reviews and with 6 years warranty for piece of mind too.

Cashback has tracked at £13 with quidco too. Although i'm not sure if it will work in conjunction with code

Difference between this and the 55B8PLA??

OLED55B8PLA gets the "True Colour Accuracy Pro" system, whereas
OLED55B8SLC only has "True Colour Accuracy" system.

    SLC has a 20W 2 speaker system.
PLA has a 40W 2.2 system. It seems the extra wattage is in the subwoofers.

    PLA has wifi direct

SLC sits 24mm higher because of the stand and the stand is much deeper (319mm vs 220mm (edited)

Also a subwoofer on the PLA (but IMO an uglier stand). Power output of speakers a bit higher, due to the woofer IIRC.

This is a great TV - got one back in January. Worth the money, and you won't get any of this years models anywhere near this price.

From what I have read it may just be the stand although could be speakers as well

I'd go OLED. It may be smaller, but it will have better image quality - and for me, that's what counts.

I realise that but just never known it to be a big issue. And they have produced a huge number of oled panels over the last 5 years now

Anyone know if the stands are interchangeable? I have the curved one but prefer the flat one

If you call up Richer Sounds, they'll also sell you the one with the other stand design if you ask.

I'd be scared of getting screen burn on an OLED display. LCD ones are far less prone to it. (edited)

If you have static images for hours it can screen burn that shape into the TV. Ie, Gamers could have the HUD eventually burning an image onto the screen. Maybe TV that has a constant icon at the top of the screen could also do it. My mate bought a top LCD TV as was scared of getting it.

Yeah, I'm not sure how big issue it is also. I just wanted to point out that if you have a static image for hours ie playing a game with a fixed image, the chances of screen burn are higher on an OLED than an LCD screen. I guess you pay your money and take your chances.
