sorted by1. Download the LG Sound bar app from Google play store, connect it to sound bar (it will show the bar in the list) and do wireless software update.
2. It sounds great for what it is. Not as good as Samsung Q600A, BUT it's 3x cheaper. My preferred mode is Bass mode with treble set to 5. Standard is similar to my TV speakers, and DTS X is lacking, very plain. AI sounds similar to Standard. Bass is way to go. Cars sound great in Gran Turismo, shooting sounds great and has punch in Deathloop Call of Duty and with Treble set to 5 watching movies is great as well, as bass is punchy but you can also hear what they're saying.
Bottom line. Happy I've paid £79, but would happily pay £200 as well.
For general tv use I turn the sub off and with the soundbar on alone it is again a great improvement. Now it is possible my tv speakers are really bad as it is not high end by any stretch and any soundbar would be an improvement but this is much better than i expected.
For movies and series on Netflix etc with the sub on it takes it to another level. As others have said I prefer bass boost setting for this and just put on standard for normal tv
So all in all, definitely worth £79 and probably more. I have had 5.1 surround in the past and no soundbar is ever going to match that on its own. And for all the Sonos comparisons you can’t really compare with the different prices, I love Sonos have had a Play 3 since 09 really top quality products so just comes down to what you want to spend. I didn’t want to spend that much so really happy with this lg soundbar at this price.
Just to add I have put the Sub in the corner behind the sofas, gives a little more of a surround feel I think. was worried it might be too far away to pair but it does straight away no problem (edited)
Pros
- Easy to use
ConsWF -6
Treble +3
Bass 0
Hope it helps someone.

[ UPDATE ] Got HDMI & optical to work. Quite a difference in quality between all three!! HDMI (Arc) is by far the best. So in order of quality:
HDMI (Arc) - the best
Optical - close to HDMI but not quite as good
Bluetooth - basic, similar to TV sound, not recommended
Hope this helps! (edited)
Think the soundbar will have two HDMI ports, the other end from the TV should go into the input on the soundbar.
Additionally ensure that CEC is enabled on your TV menu. TV manufacturers call CEC various things such as Viera Link, Anynet, Simplink, Bravia Link, Easy Link etc.
Failing that use an optical (Toslink) cable.
Bluetooth will usually sound a naff. (edited)

I don’t think using the app has that many benefits to be honest, so not too disappointed.

Sounded quite muffled/tinny. Had to crank up the volume to 18+ before I could hear anything.
Do think my experience reflects the comments made by Which review.
Considering cancellation.
What exactly was the sound bar lacking and how was it demonstrated?
No experience of this bar in particular, but I've ordered this, as at £79 it should be fine for my shed.
From what I've read on this thread, there's plenty of negative comments, but no one has been able to meaningfully describe the negatives. (edited)
Vocal clarity is just ok, no step up from my tv.
Gives a fuller sound than my tv speakers but bass is a bit boomy.
It's ok for £79 but I think I was expecting a slightly better performance.
Bought this because my KEF setup is in storage due to the lack of space in my new house.
Only keep it if you have a budget TV with tinny sound. For everyone else i'de pay more for a much better sound. (edited)

Ideally you would use bitstream as this caries dolby digital and dts signals, pcm doesn't in modern tv's as they are bandwidth limited to surround mixed down to stereo. The signal bitstream carries is usually pre decoded but in some cases with different setups you may see the setting listed as passthrough which still is the one you want ideally. On a side note if you own a firestick or anything else such as a games console they usually have the bitstream setting too or in the firesticks case dolby digital, Choose dolby digital not dolby digital plus under the audio settings, the reason for this is the firestick will attempt to send dolby digital plus that caries atmos and on samsung tv's this will negate the passthrough function (equivalent to other tv's bitstream setting) and engage the auto mode which is a better choice than pcm but won't properly exchange the signal you want the soundbar to recieve (you can tell if this is the case if passthrough is greyed out but auto is available still). This is false economy. It will sound dreadful.
You need to spend an optimum amount to get good sound quality. This won’t cut it, as seen in the awful reviews.
Anyone that is truly happy with the sound this produces doesn’t have a good reference point and their opinion shouldn’t be trusted.
Just because something is ‘cheap’, doesn’t mean you have to buy it.
This is the definition of tat (edited)
Also do i need to buy optical cables?
Got it delivered this morning also but struggling to find the steps on how to connect it
For T/Q, R/Q, N/Q, and M/Q series smart TVs (from 2017)
Home> Settings> General> External device management> Anynet + (HDMI CEC)
For K series Smart TV (2016)
Home> Settings> System> Expert settings> Anynet + (HDMI-CEC)
For Smart TV up to the J series (2015)
Menu> System> Anynet + (HDMI-CEC)
Any case have purchased one of these at £59 (had an old gift card lying around)
May sell once received. (edited)
There is a notable difference in quality having the soundbar connected up.
I think for £79 (or £59 in my case) it was worth the expense. But don't expect too much from the system as it is basic with limited functionality.
Crazy to think the JL site now has it listed at over £200
I will probably look to invest in a better spec sound bar but, for now, this will suffice. (edited)
The sound bar isn't
So you have effectively downgraded your sound/ audio (edited)
I'm trying to use it with an Acer Predator xb323qk monitor, and a Legion 5 laptop, a Series S and PS5.
The monitor has 2 x HDMI 2.1, Displayport 1.4, 2 USB ports and a 3.5mm aux port. The inbuilt speakers are 4 watt and awful!
The only way I can connect it with hindsight, is via bluetooth to the laptop, and that results in a small, but noticeable audio lag.
Connecting the soundbar to the HDMI Arc port and then to the monitor's 2.1 HDMI port results in nothing. I assume that the Series S and PS5 could be connected, if I bought a USB bluetooth dongle, but again, with audio lag.
I think it needs to be returned. Shame really, as the audio quality is a massive step up from the monitor's internal speakers.
Also is Bass Boost the best setting?
I’ve connected mine via Bluetooth to a LG TV. Don’t honestly notice much difference between that and Arc. (edited)

Oh, yes, do it in a such way that it doesn't upset anyone.
Don't need it but for the price no brainer and will come handy one day

Do me a favour, to those who've mentioned poor reviews, would you mind posting up a few links please?
Mostly on Amazon?
Bad quality sound is universal. That exactly what you will be getting with this tat
