Very true. Bought 3 pairs of sketchers in the last 2 years. All ready for the bin and I dont walk much, yet my 10 year old Adidas trainers have years worth left in them

They are very comfy but I can't be replacing trainers every 6 months (edited)

I went to a Skechers outlet store and the prices were expensive. These work out, including postage about £20 cheaper. Bargain!

I am not convinced that the Skechers in sports direct are the same quality as the ones sold in the Skechers shops. It’s as if they make them cheaper just for sports direct

Soles wear out too quickly and not suitable for even light rain unless you need a damp sponge

They're not designed to be waterproof.
If you want waterproof Skechers with a robust sole and lining then I am on my second pair of these and really recommend them. Only now available in sizes 6-8 I'm afraid.
I didn't need a second pair but like them so much I got them for when these do eventually wear out.

Sketchers are comfy, especially with arch support, but I've switched to barefoot trainers. Sketchers don't treat the cause of weak feet and weak arches, but simply mask it. If you want a good strong arch, consider using barefoot shoes for a few hours a day.

    Any particular brands you’d recommend?

I got these in store at same price. They are comfortable but not great in look. (edited)

They are charging £4.99 for returns! There are almost £10 risks in shoe shopping. (shipping & return)
