Shame about the quality. All my Merrells seem to fall apart within 6 months, mainly the front toe cap splitting on the sides and the fabric inside the heel wearing quickly. I've compained to them several times with no reply. Now going to small claima court, they owe me £600 for 5 pairs of their junk! As for Scarpa, I've had the same pair for 5 years with no damage, just a worn sole.

Someone has a lot of time on their hands. Most people would pay £500 not to go anywhere near a court. (edited)

I have these and a small tear has appeared at the front side. I wonder if the quality has reduced?

Shoe shops are closing down because we are all buying shoes online. We never get to test the quality.

And if we don't test the quality, why shouldn't they sell decent stuff.

Sports direct will probably buy up the brand anyway!

I have the moab 3 and they are great as other trainers are too tight. Anyone know if these are the same width?

I've had these an had a nightmare...I'm 10.5 in everything an 11 in Solomon...11 an on cloud an hoka challenger 7 ....but these are crazy 11.5 was too narrow an just nasty

I'm on my third pair of Merrells. First two were great with the second pair still going after 7 years (I only use them for DIY, gardening now). My last pair were awful. A split developed in almost the same place of both shoes near the toe but on the side and they were less than 2 years old (and I only wear them in the winter months). I emailed Merrell to complain and although they were outside of the warranty period they sent me a new pair. This is decent customer service but I wouldn't actually buy another pair because their quality has clearly massively deteriorated with either poor quality materials or manufacturing process, or both. Shame as they are very comfortable but no point in buying them if they don't last, you may as well buy Karrimor for half the price.
I also have a pair of Salomons, which are excellent and I think I'll get another pair when the Merrells fall apart. (edited)

Planks of wood strapped to your feet with blue rope are slightly better. 💯 for sure
