Looks like the RAM is soldered on with no option to add/swap the SODIMM(s). Absolutely bonkers decision. Rules out what otherwise looks like a decent spec laptop.

Oh, and the item description on the Amazon page (and the manufacturer's website) is really poorly written/translated. I'd expect better from an established brand like MSI. (edited)

It’s fixed, yes. I had the 14” version. Also, GPU is only 40W and 60Hz display which hobbles it as a serious gaming laptop. It seems to be a cross between an office ultraportable with a bit of gaming on the side but does neither that well.

    Not bad
If only it was 16 ram

Yeah 8GB is tragic with the rest of the spec is decent.

The lack of a RAM slot is a crime.

Haven't voted either way as it's good value, but the 8GB could be a bit of a show stopper.

Looking for a laptop asap, have been so many I’ve nearly bitten on, but stopped cos of the 8gb of ram. I went one to last me at least 5 years if poss, is the 8gb really a big deal? Any advice would be great !

Depends on your use. What sort of software will you be running?

Hot from me and I'm tempted but the RAM is meh. It's ludicrous to be sticking 8gb soldered into a machine like this.

It’s very strange, especially when they bothered to install a discrete GPU as well… seems like they should have done an 8GB with integrated graphics SKU and then a 16GB with discrete graphics and 90/120Hz panel SKU - not sure who this is meant to appeal to.
