Product Overview
Grab this PS5 controller and challenge your mates to a sofa battle. It’s not just any controller though – the DualSense™ technology creates realistic tension in the buttons, so you’ll feel the difference between pulling a bowstring or a gun trigger. Woah. And it has a create button, which can record and share your best gaming moments. So, it’s great for putting that winning shot in the group chat to claim ultimate bragging rights. Plus, if you take the game online, you can use its built in microphone and speaker to talk to other players. No headset needed here. You don’t need to worry about its battery either – just plug it in using the USB-C cable and let it charge while you play.

The blue, purple and pink ones have slightly thicker springs on the buttons and possibly stronger base for the analogue sticks to prevent stick drift

Just stronger springs in the controller's, personally never problem with my original, had it not long after launch

My friend has had one since launch and it got drift within 12 months, with very little rumble use since we play mostly FPS games. The features like dualsense don’t affect stick drift at all so the life span of these controllers is awful anyways. (edited)

Same. Had mine from day 1 and only now am I getting stick drift. Was needing an excuse to get the new coloured controllers anyway !

Only getting 18 months from a controller is pretty poor though.

Are these cheaper now because they are the v1 without the updated springs?

No, it's a promotion being ran by Sony atm across all retail channels

    Look up "days of play"

Personally I've just paid £62 from Currys with the 3 years warranty. We've had 3 PS5 controllers get drift now all with less than 6 months use (My son got his PS5 for xmas). I did this with a PS4 controller and ended up with 4 replacements over the 3 years. Well worth it for me. (edited)

To each their own, but I expect more than 18 months of light use from the products I buy.

How can you distinguish from the old drift controllers and the new improved ones?

The new ones have a symbol looks like a letter A/triangle shape on back of the controller on serial number. I got the cosmic red from argos 2 months ago and was the newer model. Just your guaranteed to get the newer models if you get the blue, pink, and purple ones. (edited)
