Bought one a couple of winters ago. Bought for evenings with the telescopes. Was watching it for a while before buying it. It was £300+ on release. Got it on offer from good old HUKD's for a remarkable £150 (no time machine reference inferred). Would buy this jacket again in a heartbeat. Absolute quality. At the risk of ill-perceived arrogance, I imagine many of the cold votes are from people who just don't know any better. (edited)

RAB jackets are expensive but great (I have 2 RAB down jackets of different weights) and would love a waterproof one, but been hesitating with this one. I tried it on a year ago but found the Velcro cuffs uncomfortable, the arms a bit long and was disappointed that the main zip was not a double so you can't loosen from the bottom up if you sit down and there is no outside zipper pocket for your phone, gps etc. which from experience is a total pain when you have to unzip the main zip in the wet and cold and presumably even more if you wear it in the rain which I would hope to do. I notice their newer and more expensive Gore-tex version has both features! (edited)

A quality jacket but £215 is steep despite the saving.

It's ironic that this has gone cold.

You pay for what you get with RAB coats. I’ve got a RAB Resolution. Amazing warmth, waterproof etc. Best coat I’ve ever had for winter conditions. It’s that good that when I camp with the scouts in January (Chilly Challenge), I can honestly say I’m toasty and warm without the campfire!

Fantastic jacket and well worth the money. Paid a lot more for mine (but a much nicer blue ink colour so I’m happy!) and would buy it again. Top spot op

Mountain equipment Anapura is also waterproof I believe, I find RAB is a better fit on me but both are great. Heat as a good discount and a lot of people on here have no idea what quality equipment costs, they obviously have never been skiing where a goretex jacket and trousers can easily be £1000 (edited)

I have had a similar Rab Coat for 12 years now. It is amazing. People vote cold purely on price, this is a fantastic coat that if looked after will last 15-20 years no problems.

Note - You can use offcuts of Kite tape to repair these sort of coats. Get them on ebay for about £1! I have a small repaired section where i fell about 7 years ago and its perfect.

The resolution looks a beast of a coat, I may pick one up next year if it reduces in price a bit.

This was pretty much my experience 2 seasons ago and ended up sending it back. I actually ended up using a thermoball jacket with a shell over when wet and it was a good experience. Last year picked up a Rab Sanctuary for chilly dry days and it’s great. I take it the newer one you refer to is the Resolution. It looks great!

Think I got mine for just over £225 in the end. You won’t regret it! I did have to bide my time to get it at that price... Rab outlet shop in Alfreton Derbyshire is a good place to go if you can’t wait for a retailer to have it at a decent price. No guarantees they will have the size or model you want on display though!

Yep I’ve played that game before when I lived in Brum. In Sussex now so a bit of a trek. I tend to be in between small and medium in Rab so usually have to purchase both and see. I’m justifying not trying now as I am telling myself we are going to start getting too warm for it soon.

£225 is a killer deal by the way, nice find. (edited)

I've been watching the price of this jacket for a while. If they had the size I'm after I would be jumping at this. Great price.
