I've probably given way too much thought to this over the years, but I'm going with egg.

In evolutionary terms, birds evolved from lizards, right? Lizards also lay eggs. So wherever the line is that we consider something a 'chicken' rather than a 'lizard', it would still have hatched from an egg..

On my allotment I'm surrounded on all sides by chicken owners; it's a full-time job keeping chickens. As I haven't got enough time to keep them I just sit and listen to them and enjoy their company, and I feed them now and again when the owners go on holiday. Much easier for me this way, although if my small terrace back yard suddenly turned into an acre I would keep them in a heartbeat 💓 🐔
